Is Modi planning another round of demonetisation?
by susarla suryaprakasam on May 06, 2018 06:09 PM

A wasteful exercise, instead abstain from printing higher denominations and incentivise non-cash transactions offering a mnimum of 5% discount. Then in 2022 or later, demonetize 2000/- denominatin without giving time for exchange i.e. only to deposit next day or two. Besides, levy charges of 5% on cash transactions of 50000/- drawn per week.

the cause of problems is higher denomination notes...jut like big denomination 1000 note was banned and 2000 rs note introduced...similarly need for the hour is to remove the big denomination note of rs 2000 and replace it with rs. 5000 note....

black is back
by Martin Pereira on Apr 29, 2018 05:07 PM

News is that black money is back. So people shouldn't be surprised 2000 notes are demonetised, now government has better experience. I suspect the timing will be for next election in 2019 to checkmate the opposition, rather than to attack corruption or black money. I hope poor people don't suffer this time round.

Oppositions here are like Apostrophe, presence but without pronunciation and thus Modi can do whatever he likes.
