Government has taken good initiative in introducing FASTAG chips in all new vehicles coming out of factory----simply introducing FASTAG will not work as the dedicated lanes for FASTAG are mostly used by vehicles with payments(although there is a rule to charge double if a vehicle without FASTAG enters in the dedicated lane but no body follows.Secondly if you confront with them,those goons managing the toll will be rude with the vehicle driver/owner.The government should implement the FASTAG lane rule strictly only then it will be success.Also it appears the TOLL plaza's are not happy with introduction of FASTAG as the toll operators manning the booth tries to make quick bucks by returning 2 coins of Rs2 instead of Rs5/ and normally vehicle owners do not bother for Rs1/ but during the whole day,the amount collected is substantial.I have made complaints to nodal officers but i think they are also hands in glove with Toll operators and do not bother to reply back.
