This present Govt wants to make so called Development of Highways at the cost poor people.Why should Poor people part with their land and house for the rich to Zoom in Luxury Cars in 4 lane and 6 lanes.
The only way that roads can be built and development ushered in heavily populated areas today is by way of elevated roads, rather than bye passes at every village corner.
Bye-passes are passe, an old concept propagated in USA of 1930s , when there was hardly any pressure of population on far flung lands. But now , in a densely populated country like ours, we have to take inspiration from Japan and China, where highways are not made in cities, but over them. That way, the only plot of land that is required, is for a pillar foundation to be laid. Hope NHAI and other govt. bodies start looking at elevated highways and rail roads vigorously and build infrastructure network around this platform.
Kerala is such a tiny state and is so dense in population that there is hardly any empty space left which can be used for development. Any piece of land required would be thro' the heart of people live and though development is required, when people especially poor ones who has only their house and piece of land for their survival whole life, it is just natural that they protest. And in India, its always been double standard. Govt. would take development only thro' the heart of poor people and not thro' the lands of rich. And why do not Govt. explore elevated highways which would disturb nobody and would give the required development a boost. But we Indians are always double standard. We want development only at the expense of poor people and not from well settled people. Because we think poor are illegal people and have no right to anything. Sad that Indians thinking are so poor and uneducated. Not sure though Pinarayi talks of development, he is serious about development. He is definitely strong and atleast might ensure that the common people are put to difficulties.
Acquire land for four laning of Trivandrum Kanyakumari National High way. Nobody is giving land. Kerala Govt also not interested. Center not ready to give funds unless land is acquired. Every ten minutes a village/town. bypass also not possible.
