Understand the subject of IT jobs in depth...
by Rahul Khaitan on Oct 01, 2017 08:55 AM

. Indian labor force in IT, large number of engineers who can read and speak English, even if broken or less than perfect, rode a curve that was dictated by a rapid need to automate by businesses, communities and governments world over.

Once the Industry matured toward automation, these opportunities would vanish. The cultural aspects of Indian workforce do not currently support the "creative" or the "Innovative" aspects of Information Technology as readily. Just in bits and parts.

The "skills" of creativity or innovation unfortunately, cannot be taught in the millions of private training institutions, like it happened with "code writing"

It is better that Engineers are better off to focus on "civil" engineering, that WILL have a huge place in a country like India where an infrastructure boom is waiting to happen, and is inevitable.

It is important to reduce the pressure on IT / Computers as the only choice, because it bought in good salaries and money for early adopters.

Flawed Prophecy!
by Dr B M Santosh on Sep 06, 2017 01:17 PM  | Hide replies

This article is completely flawed and rubbish. No scientific base. As usual like a typical IITian and IIM grad, this person wants to tell some story and grab attention. Because of these kind of characters Indian higher education is suffering. These people are parasitic on hard earned taxpayers money. The worst part in this country is every newspaper or a magazine gives a tag of IIT or IIM for the writer who has passed out of these waste and rubbish establishments which camouflage their biggest weakness, that is, poor record of IPRs and lack of innovative research on campus. Author's quality of write-up is measured by the content, not by their previous or present affiliation (i.e. alumni tags). Dr B M Santosh, PhD (ACU, Australia).

Hello Mr, I never make loose comments. My assessment has been backed with a significant amount of research evidence (mainly on innovation and research output - IPRs). India has been spoilt by Nehruvian foundation and your IITs and IIMs are just few elements of such a weak foundation. So, I neither need endorsement from you nor your poor assessment coming out of misconceived information.

Man vs Money debacle to pave way for communism ?
by Ashish Swaroop on Sep 06, 2017 12:26 PM

In the time to come, it is going to be man vs. money debate. Companies work for profits - they always think of cost cutting. On the other hand, every man is striving for livelihood. In the scenario where technology takes away jobs , there is terrible conflict between man and money. With the Governments already turning protectionist, it is very probable that there is reemergence of the omnipotent Governments as also the communism, and the money motive is back to zero.

Engineering
by arungopal agarwal on Sep 06, 2017 12:25 PM

After allowing many private colleges, it has become now a primary graduate degree instead of normal graduation, everyone feels that to have a 4 years engineering degree may yield better future comparing to normal graduate. But in this effort, we are noticing many educational shops instead of proper education.
Somehow craze to do engineering from reputed college is still there, and demand of such graduates will never come down.

Mush rooming of pvt engg colleges
by on Sep 06, 2017 10:40 AM

Our politicians are responsible for permitting their kith& kin to start pvt egg colleges to mint money under management quota of 33% and fat college fees from the aspirants, regardless of any survey of future requirement of the country and job prospects. Each state in south India have more than 500 pvt colleges each ,out of which 75% don't have proper infrastructure& teaching facilities. Then one can imagine the standard of those engg graduates.Presently half the colleges are closed for want of students.Demand is only for top 10 colleges in each state .Unless politicians in power plan the things properly any field especially education suffers a lot and eventually reflects on Govt only
