CGST and an 'as usual' foodie at a restaurant
by Raghavendra Bhat on Oct 31, 2017 12:40 PM

The most painful thing ever done by the Bajpa Sarkar of PM Narender Modi is the unsuspected introduction of a 'food tax' on cooked restaurant food. Ordinary, run-of-the-mill restaurants are taxed as are the swanky A/C joints. On a meal of Rs 55/-, CGST of Rs 7/- is levied, this is most atrocious and daylight thievery by the government of the day. The GoI is seen as slapping an already down and out cripple, slapping so hard that the injury is tantamount to the death sentence. The Bajpa Sarkar has to be thrown out at the hustings, the door has to be shut in their faces when they come around asking for votes!

GST

GST, A GOOD SYSTEM WAS INTRODUCED HASTILY AND IN A WRONG WAY. THE GST SHOULD HAVE TAUGHT TO TRADERS PARALLEL TO EXISTING TAX REGIME FOR ABOUT SIX MONTHS. THE SERVER WAS NOT SUFFICIENT CAPACITY AS HEAVY TRAFFIC WAS THERE FOR FILING. GST CREDIT ON PURCHASES ARE DENIED IF THE SELLER DELAYS OR OMITS TO FILE DETAILS.

The 2G scam
by piri on Oct 30, 2017 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

became big news even though the thieves (Mittal, Birla, Agarwal and facilitators such as Raja and other politicians and bureaucrats) were caught before they could actually effect much of the big loot they planned.

In the case of the long running NPA scam however, gigantic sums of money have been actually stolen from public wealth for long without catching public attention !

The write offs of NPAs of PSU banks (big loans taken by croxny capitalists such as the Ambanis, Ruias, Adanis, etc without sufficiently secured collateral) started in a big way during the Vajpayee regime. This gained further momentum when P Chidambaram was the finance minister in the UPA II regime.à

But, according to the CAG and RBI reports (published in the media), the scam reached gargantuan proportions during the first 2 years of the Narendra Modi govt !

While Chidambaram presided over the writing off of 2.14 lakh crore rupees of the loans taken by the Ambanis and others, the Modi govt wrote off Rs 6.11 lakh crores in 2 years and has just announced a Rs 2 lakh crores recapitalisation package (transfer from the exchequer to the affected banks) for PSU banks, thus completing the loot !

Well articulated, the players in grabbing the loot are actors in the 'mime parade'. PM Narender Modi has given off a gift to the 'carpetbaggers' on a gold platter for looting PSU banks by the grand re-capitalization plan.

You didnt get it right.

The BJP, by all indications (relative election campaign expenses and under reporting of such expenses to the EC, writing off NPAs owed to PSU banks by big croxny capitalists, extending ill secured loans to these croxny capitalists from banks, adverse CAG comments regarding causing losses to public resources, resistance to the institutions of the Lok Ayuktha and the Lok Pal, complicity in shielding big and corrupt corporates such as the Adanis from criminal proceedings...), has far and long since outstripped the Congress party in extent of corruption !!!

The BJP is today immensely more corrupt than the Congress !

And this is precisely why Narendra Modi is desperately trying to pretend that he and his party are fighting corruption in seriousness !

A country with largest number of tax evaders has every reason to feel crushed or bruised by such actions. There are a crore of SMEs who hardly pay any tax but recovers from customers. At least this tax is a compensation, but vote catching is affected, like in the case of farmers wherein there are millionaires and who have received lakhs of debt relief, thanks to Chidambaram but do not pay one rupee but eats tax payers money ( up course there are many evaders). Only way is this, GST but at source of production / service with no exception and no subsidies or exemptions under reservations.

Agree to some extent that a lawyer can't be finance minister. We have seen how P. Chidamberam doomed Indian economy sidelining with looters

Jailing general public started from Congress. Even during UPA government many honest officers were tortured and Hindus were jailed by Congress government
