It took 7 years

for the first big scam of the 2 UPA regimes to come out into the open. But actually, those scams were in the making for much longer. The 2G scam actually had its genesis with Pramod Mahajans (NDA I) act of discretionary allocation of frequencies in 2002. It took a long 11 years for that decision and the acts following immediately afterwards to snowball into the gigantic loot that Raja of UPA II planned (but could not quite carry out).

An even larger scam has been in the making and actually been running for a very long time. This is the writing off of NPAs owed to public sector banks by big croxny capitalists that have been and are in a cozy give-some-and-take immensely-more relationship with the political party ruling at the centre !

But this scam is marked by two distinctive features that were absent in the 2G and the coal scams. These are

1. While the 2G and the coal scams are about 15 and 9 years old from conception, the ill secured loans (that led to the creation of NPAs) are much older. Such illegal advances from PSU banks to croxny capitalists started as a trickle during the days of Indira Gandhi as PM and grew steadily through Congress, UPA and NDA governments until they became essentially a massive flow of wealth from the commoners hands to those of croxny capitalists. Subsequently, NDA I under the now very benign looking Vajpayee began the actual transfer of such liabilities from the banks to the exchequer, thus completing the circle of loot.

2. The second difference between the NPA write off scam and the 2G/coal scams is that while the latter has a relatively clearer trail left behind by the facilitators of the loot (the ministers and other members of the executive), the NPA write offs can more easily be argued off with the excuse of having to recapitalise the banks for the sake of the deposit holders in those banks (the general public). The illegal advances of huge amounts of money made to croxny capitalists that end up as NPAs in the hands of the banks can also be explained more easily away before auditors as failures of perception and judgement of banking officials !

This relative ease with excuses is the only reason why the ongoing NPA scam is not catching public attention as much as the 2G and coal scams despite the fact that amounts several times as much were actually lost by the exchequer !

Sagacious analyses.
Telecommunication companies are suffering from NPA bug the most. Due to new auction policy , these companies resorted to very high bidding then the potential revenue . Now Govt is bailing out these defaulting companies by infusing huge tax payer`s money amounting to several lakh crores into the system. What consumer has to get in return from this huge bail out package, is it not a scam of several lakh cores ? virtually these companies got these circles free of cost in net terms.

The latest figures put the INCREASE in NPA`s to the tune of Rs. 4.55 lakh crores from financial yr. 2015 till June, 2017. Perhaps figures contradict your statement.

If your comments are right, then there is a question why EC is not declared the election with HP. secondly after postponing the date of election in Guj. why PM visited twice in a week and go on announcing several project. No one can understand the salary of workers increased during these period. during his regime as CM he dont know the condition of working class? Today Rupani announced ISIS hands with Ahmed Patel do you tell us how long Rupani as CM and he come to know only today is it not election related matter to fool the voters. Mr. Shah there many questions like this and every one said Gujarat developed if it is really developed then why now so many projects announced. It is correct many people know Modi magic will work out no doubt but if Congress come strong opposition or more seats then sitting parliament then what the image of present govt. It is upto the voters mind till last day of voting. During last three months there are many projects announced why? It means during his regime there is no work did and now only announced during this election. Dont take it seriously wait and watch what results will come if not temper EVM machine. till that time please sleep peacefully. Mr. whenever you are commenting only one side but think generally then only you will get the result.

Tera Bharat, If BJPdo not retain power for the second term I will stop writing comments at Rediff. Do you stop your nonsense if the party you blindly support fail miserably in assembly Gujarat ? You people don't know the poll position and minds of Gujaratis. Simply writing nonsense all the time sitting at home with bias mindset will not serve your purpose.

No impact at all
by Jayaprakash Balan on Oct 27, 2017 05:48 PM  | Hide replies

Whether or not BJP wins Gujarat or Himachal, it will not impact market in any way, first because there is no doubt BJP is going to win way ahead in both the states, not just because of Modi, but because there is no strong opposition or opposition leader who can be respected or even reach near Modi. Even 2019 elections are confirmed win for Modi and BJP because of the same factor. Rahul is no match for Modi and day by day he is only slipping down due to his foolish remarks and comments. So, even if there are quite a percentage who doesn't like Modi or BJP, they know for sure that there is no alternative for BJP and mainly Modi today in India and thats their win. And by 2019 Modi's policies might work for India and even those who are against him will start supporting him.

Big Laugh for comments like Rahul/Congress is not cheater/liar /corrupt /communal/criminal /mafia & a womeniser. Are you forgetting UPA regime when every day new scam was unearthed. In Congress all ministers were busy in scams & businessmen in tax evasions and above all PM was sleeping.

Dandekar, ShivSena tried to fight election alone and has paid the price. They were acting like a big brother to BJP and were dictating their terms, humiliating and insulting BJP all the time. Now the position is different. Fadanvis has shown Sena their right place. Do you think Sena could have got 18 parliament seats on their own merit ? They should thank to Modi and Modi wave. If you people do not afford something which Gujaratis do, don't be jealous. If Sena has guts to field their candidates in Gujarat election, let them do so and see that none of their candidate will not even save their deposits.

U R right dear Shah, Shiv Sena could get those 18 Lok Sabha seats just because of Modi-wave. It can also be termed as tsunami.

But the jealous & highly egoistic Shiv Sena are not ready to agree to this truth.

Now see what will happen in the coming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Shiv Sena will pay the price of alienating BJP & always poking at Modi like Kejriwal.

By the way, Kejriwal has now understood the hard way that always criticizing Modi has made him a nobody now. Kejriwal's graph has slided to ZERO now because of that. So, he has stopped speaking on Modi altogether.

Shiv Sena should take a lesson from Kejriwal & save themselves. Shiv Sena is digging their own grave by daily criticizing Modi on Saamna. A wasteful activity.

Same is the case with Mamata Banerjee & Lalu Yadav. They are all going to learn the hard way.

Had all these politicians done some good work instead of wasting time on criticizing Modi, they could have been in a better position by now.

Very valid points dear Balan.

I am also 100% sure that Modi-BJP will surely WIN in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections & also the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

Presently and also for the coming 10 Years, there is going to be no match for Modi.

People of India are very intelligent. Its definitely better-off to leave the country in the hands of Modi & his Group. As, they are all very disciplined, committed, sincere, patriotic and spiritual, with Hindu cultural background that appeals to the majority Indians.

It will be for the well-being of India that we leave this country in the hands of Modi.

Otherwise, if at this juncture if hypothetically we take that Modi looses, then there will definitely be anarchy in the country. As, all the original corrupt party & politicians like the Congress, Lalu, Mayawati, DMK etc. will come & loot our country with no redemption for India in sight after that.
