Biting the bullet first and shooting later
by Akash Baruah on Oct 11, 2017 05:45 PM

I would certainly love this country to have a bullet train, though i cannot comment on the viability of a project. i am just worried about the drop in quality and service standard of our existing premier trains,ie, Rajdhani and Shatabdis. The food quality has dropped vary badly and so also is the service in the coaches. Let's try to improve conditions in these as well before bite another bullet.

The fool doesn't know the H of homoeopathy and is trying to be over smart without any knowledge of subject.
On the Economic front he is more prone to showing loyalties. Thinking of Economies of scale with Bullet train. I do not know the logic. If the Government would have spent equivalent money in improving Infrastructure of current system, whole country would have benefited and not only few merchants

homeopathic state of mind

The Author has probably not gone through the harshness of homeopathic medicine can create on your health if not taken in correct doses, so has a mis-conception & writes about it in derogatory manner. It is not only sweet but also effective in a long run. (I have no one from homeopathy but got its better effects)

Something dramatic like this in corruption will do wonders
by MS Vasan on Oct 11, 2017 05:00 PM  | Hide replies

Homeopathic treatment of corruption and bribe is sinking this country inspite of bullet trains coming...
What is needed is a surgical strike on bribe and corruption and revolutionary new plan..

Bullet Train

Instead of Bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmadabad it would have been better if it was between Mumbai and Delhi. Hoe it gets extended in due course of time.

How much time is lost for millions of commuters due to late running of trains, appears to be of no value as compared to luxury of a fast bullet train to be used by few. Time of only those VIPs who can afford bullet train is very important as compared to common man!Probably these millions of people have no contribution to national economy as compared to few who would be able to commute daily by bullet trains bringing big cities and shrinking atlus for those few. Excellent thinking mr author!

Shekhar Gupta tries to please the new masters..somehow!

Homoeopathy and Tirupati are not solutions. Agreed. But neither is an overdose of antibiotics the solution. Demonetization and trying to get to 300 kmph on a prototypical with no attention paid to rail safety and infrastructure elsewhere is like an antibiotic treatment without any concern for underlying causes. You can do it on a healthy body...not on someone too old or too young. So is India fit enough to take such shocks? Do we really know wellness, used as we are to sickness !

Many of the projects in the wake of liberalization, an environment which was heralded, by Congress of Narasimha and Manmohan.

Cong also planned for High Speed Railway but it only remained on paper. The only problem about bullet line is: it would have been better had it been in BG so that some sections of this route can be used by semi high speed trains of other routes some of whose portions may overlap with this bullet line

Expectation of people are of surgery, what to do? No one talks about strict population control, political and judicial reforms to ease life.
All policies are made to control people only, no one is accountable at grass root level in govt.

population control is the most important thing but unfortunately a big vote bank section (often supported by "liberal" "secular" section of our intellectuals will oppose it
