that would be the only reason to give him Nobel. i.e. to further western interests. In pakistan malala got nobel. But another guy (unfortunately can not remember the name. But he dies recently) who actually worked got nothing. Obama got peace prize without doing anything. There are many cases. Stop making TIME magazine and Nobel larger than life.
Rajan deserves every bit . He has beautifully handled the global meltdown , which dint effect India much . Swamy or BJP might not appreciate him , but he was by far the best RBI Governor , dint allow India to crash land

He is not an economist in the first place as most of the ignorant believe. the people expect him to get Nobel price ? for what ? We have one Noble prize winner Amartya Sen and his contribution to the Indian economy and West Bengal economy is known to every one.

Rajan is an Electrical engineer, a Finance PhD. I guess BJP doesnt like his qualification.

Unlike Congress, BJP had retained his services even though he was appointed by Congress. He was not given any further extension as he started showing his true colours and playing mischiefs.
