GST review?
by V Nagarajan on Nov 25, 2017 08:02 PM

I was shocked to find that they are charging 12% GST on all the Khadhi and village industries products sold at 'Khadhi Gramodyog' outlets. This must be removed.

GST coucil to discuss with traders not with officers
by SUBRAMANIAN VANJIAPPAN on Nov 14, 2017 06:22 AM

Jeiltly and Co is implementing this GST in a raw manner, they need to discuss with ground level traders/common citizens and never with finance ministry officers

GST mess is Jeilty created - the FAiled Minister
by SUBRAMANIAN VANJIAPPAN on Nov 14, 2017 06:14 AM

After nullified the benefits of Demonitisation with many loop holes , this GST made many traders stranded with many rules and regulation believing only GSTN not the traders and charging of higher taxes rates. Penalty for delay in filing , GST on all services and foods are irritating the citizens and business men.

there is no reduction in prices as single GST claimed but only increase in common use. Single point taxes now made multi point taxes.
It would have started at lower rates at fewer items and simple filing procedures for input credit .
For this a common man's Finance minister is required not this elite and proclaimed failed minister of Jeilty

GST SHOULD BE 10% ONLY
by decent on Nov 13, 2017 12:51 PM

GST should be at the most 10% just think of it,10% is itself a huge amount. There is a big difference in 18% and 28%,we do not know how this 285 has come in picture as if 19,20....27 are not there.10% is adequate.

puzzling indeed are the ways of the working of the GST regime
by Raghavendra Bhat on Nov 13, 2017 07:31 AM  | Hide replies

Instead of doing away with the CGST on cooked food altogether, the Finance Ministry is dribbling on retaining a token 5% General Sales tax on restaurants. Ordinary folks flock to restaurants to have food as they may not have alternatives elsewhere, cooked food may not be available for them as they might be living far away from their homes or may be working. The drastic tax of 5% on cooked food should be struck off, anyway which. The Finance Ministry has to help the compliant common citizen who depends on food from restaurants day in and day out!

Govt has mopped up 6.4 lakh crores since May, 2014 on account of reduced crude oil prices internationally. Even if 28 % GST is levied on petrol , it shall be around Rs 40/ litre.
Infact , there is no justification of keeping real estate , petroleum & alcohol outside the ambit of GST.

We want our country like Singapore, without black money, ease of doing business, corruption free, efficient government work etc.
When paying tax is required we are against it,always follow double standard.
However simplification of taxation ,lower rates, less layers etc are required from government side with no return of inspector Raj but simultaneously honest business culture has to be developed for healthy nation/stronger economy.

my dear friend you are under the wrong notion. the government wants to tax, left and right the 20 or 30 % people paying taxes and run the whole country of about 125 crores on it ... give it a thought. the government has only simplified the tax structure which has only benefitted the working of the government working. overall the common man\'s budget has increased about 8 - 10 per cent. go to any village and in front of the house, there would be atleast there suv\'s parked ! why not bring them also in the tax net, what about the government employees - why are they exempted .. what about the pay commissions being dolled over at the cost of the common man ?

Govt Wants revenue to Pay Useless & Corrupt govt servants
by baba joshi on Nov 12, 2017 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

Major portion of the tax revenue is spent in the form of salary to Pay Useless and corrupt govt servants.

Try telling calling Govt employee as Govt Servant. He will fume with EGO. He is not ready to accept that his salary he gets from the tax payers money. Govt also approves the pay commission which has reached 8th because of VOTES. It is high time we change our attitude. abolish caste based Reservation.

Reform in GST
by on Nov 12, 2017 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

What is the justification in imposing 18% GST upon membership fees of registered societies and clubs. These organisations should be completely exempted from GST.

Such members are already charged appropriate tax separately for various goods and services received from different outlets of these societies/clubs, and thus tax on subscription is a double txataion
