IMPORTANT TO REVERSE & SEE HOUSEHOLDS CAN SAVE
by ARUN JAIN on Nov 11, 2017 07:28 PM

The situation is not as good. Bank interest rates on FDR and other saving instruments have declined substantially. Prices of vegetables, fruits & various other commodities keep sky rocketing . Taxes at every stage jacks up prices & is a severe burden on the consumer. Ultimately everything boils down to the end consumer. We all are consumersburdened & stressed. The GST rates must be substantially lowered and preferably to a single slab as recommended by the Kelkar committee. The manufacturers, farmers and the Governments at State & Centre must ensure no wastages, ensure austerity, judicious expenditures & reverse the trend of 15 paise reaching the bottom to 100 paise in effective usage for the growth, development of the country besides the happiness of it's people. Very close monitoring is required. Bribes excalate costs. Our P.M. 's excellent aim is to cut it to zero. Project costs need to be effectively & efficiently worked out. Time bound executions are important. Leakages need to be severely plugged. The countrymen too must rise up to realize Duties over Rights. Ever increasing wages in Government ,organized & unorganized sectors should also be a cause of concern & reversal. Today petroleum prices are too high. Past Governments put a cess on petrol & diesel that was for building roads & infrastructure.Consumer is already paying through the cess. What is the necessity of toll taxes in a huge nation of 130 crore people. The mismatches

Lethargic Bureaucrats inversely proportional to Twitter Slogans
by Santosh on Nov 11, 2017 04:10 PM

Nightmare to see how State of Economy move directionless even if far Honest intention then previous Governments.

With High price of FMCG , Retail goods including School Education , Medicine in parallel to Loss of Employment is making “Mid –income” families life awful.

Government should wake up from somber to get rid of Lethargic Bureaucrats to replace them “Talented Experienced Unemployed People” in 3 to 5 year Contract.

70% Indian , State Cadre Services must be immediately replaced with “Indian Contractual Administrative Service (ICAS)” instead of protecting them with Act of Parliament.

Twitter Slogans can not improve state of Hunger , Health and Education with age old Bureaucrats working backwards.

car sales
by Sachin Nair on Nov 11, 2017 04:00 PM

Rediff carried an article which says that 2.2 crore cars are sold in india. Out of this 40% are first time car buyers. If there is a slowdown and lack of jobs and no money left after price increase then who are these 40% who have the money to buy new cars.
Assuming the on road price of a Maruti Alto is 5 lakhs all inclusive. Assume that 70% is through bank loan- which means that person has income eligibility and even works in a profession which is eligible for bank loan then are things as bad as it seems?

LOWERING SAVINGS...
by pranab banerjee on Nov 11, 2017 01:07 PM  | Hide replies

Modiji,
This wont do, Modiji.
I am a great supporter of BJP and yourself.
We know the two great things done-demon and GST.
But Achha din nowhere in sight; no job growths; delayed salaries; factories limping or closing; prices no respite; no Projects.
Shining India ? Give us some more time? How much, another 5 years?
BJP is lucky it has a joker and discredited Congress in opposition.
And WB/Kerala/Art370/Rohingyas/Assam...?Nothing done!
Require another 5 years?

No Tax benifits
by rajanala ramakrishna on Nov 11, 2017 12:17 PM  | Hide replies

The main reason for decline in savings is age old rebate slabs. Salaries increased multifold during past 2 decades but the rebate for savings literally remained same. When there is incentive for savings, who will save in this era of very low interest rates??
