Croma's fraudulent act - apology
by VK Aggarwal on Nov 03, 2017 10:44 PM

The decision of forum recognise the ways of cheating consumer by well known consumer good & e-commerce companies and imposed penlty for mental agony suffered by consumer and cost for contesting the case. As fair deal, company should have refunded money with interest while cancelling order and again failed to accept its wrong doing on receipt of notice and decided to contest complaint as a big organisation and would manage dragging the matter in consumer court and poor consumer would not be able to stand against the abundant resources of corporation and continued on the basis of delay to retain money received to enrich itself. Croma failed to show its fair dealing organisation.
E-commerce companies and companies supplying material against order booking with full or partial advance should learn and modify there business practices to maintain there credit for growth of trade & commerce. Further, trade association should also act against such organisations.
Competition Commission should initiate inquiry and suo moto proceedings against the reputed company for adopting such practices.

it remains to be seen whether the company honours the judgement and the order as the media does not endeavour to highlight how many such orders by consumer courts are complied with by the companies.

it remains to be seen whether this order is honoured by the company and whether the consumer receives his dues.
the problem with the media is that they highlight the judgement but fail to highlight whether the same has been complied with by the company.

Consumer Redressal !
by Viju on Nov 03, 2017 11:19 AM

It is a pity that consumer laws are so weak that a firm can afford to renege its ethical & moral responsibility. The compensation should have been punitive & exemplary, say 10to100 crores (instead of a paltry 10000), so that no business can afford to get away with such a bad practice.
