by R ponnabalam on Jun 03, 2017 04:17 PM  | Hide replies

Revive Govt. of Industries,Strictly implement "NO WORK NO PAY" Curtail discipline impairing Trade union activities. In one Govt. of India company the M.D was reported to have told the union "Punishment for mistake cannot be escaped here."That company was cash rich in those days. One work man scolded him.I reprimanded him.The workman immediately replied:"Sir, mistake you make or I make ,Punishment is same from him.I replied ,"That is what is expected of him."It needs fairNESS , discipline enforceMENT and EFFECTIVE USE OF RULES,It is high time Govt.of Industries are revived and run efficaciously.R.Ponnambalam

Wake up Ministry of Industry
by R ponnabalam on Jun 03, 2017 04:06 PM

At last an article extolling Demonetization.Whatever black money has come out or whatever increase in Tax collection has been there seems to have lulled the govt. The Ministry of Industry had slept for the last 30yrs ,It must wake up to see that Manufacturing sector gets investment. Start somewhere.May be in steel hardware or in power sector equipment or in Plastic machinery accessories. If Pvt. sector is not coming forward revitalize companies like HMT.BHEL.If imports are because of poor quality of products coming from India ,address that issues like machinery ,material etc.Our labour is cheaper than in China. If it is because of economics of quantity it can be addressed,UP alone needs massive input in Power. Why with companies who had been there in hardware-TVS,GKW -we import hardware from China. In 1995 etc we talked of GSLV in terms of 10 yrs. or so. OK we had taken longer. If in that sector that is possible the Govt, can run industries.Put Labour movement in place. One example in mid 1970 in a steel plant"Workmen will come in by company bus in the morning shift, punch time card,go back immediately by night shift bus ,take breakfast in house in company town ship, come back to factory by general shift bus and work, make only a specificc quoto of production , not what production was genuinely possible,-- much more is there ".In the early days of Industrialization many things well intended for work men were misused.Correct all those.Revive Govt.of I

PEOPLE ARE HOLDING 500 & 1000 OLD NOTES.
by binu ravi on Jun 03, 2017 04:02 PM

Recent recoveries of old 500 & 1000 rupee indicate people are still holding the OLD notes thinking congress will come back to power and they can continue corruption with the OLD notes.

Mr. Modi also taught rich people who lived a beggars life. It is heard that many of they brought high end cars to save the old notes and upgraded the life style.

Black money in the temples run by RSS
by Jagdish Arora on Jun 03, 2017 03:56 PM  | Hide replies

The total black money in the temples amounts to ten times the entire black money in Swiss Banks or with the public.

Robbers steal money from Banks since the banks are hoarding black money so this needs to be freed so the teawala is also stealing money from the public in name of black money as people have kept it for emergency through raids and taxes. It is robbery in legal form.

So all kinds of stealing is good whether from bank or public using legal methods like note-bandi or bank-robberries by his partners in business or other means.

This helps to grow the GDP of thieves and robbers who will then spend this money to grow themselves by having rallies and winning more elections.

Have a nice daylight robbery.

How can anyone suggest
by piri on Jun 01, 2017 07:57 AM  | Hide replies

that the war against black money is half won ?

Against the declared target of netting Rs 3 lakh crores of black money stored in cash that was sought to be captured by the thunderous idea of demonetization (and followed up with numerous IT raids and schemes such as the PMGKY when it became known that the demonetization is a failure), the total black cash netted so far is less than Rs 30000 crores !

And the govt and the RBI are pretending that the cash deposited back during the demonetization has still not been completely counted and verified (this contrasts glaringly with Modis hyped up declarations that the nation would know on January 1st how much wealth was kept away as black) !

And about the Rs 300 lakh crores black wealth estimated by the writer, the less said the better !

Only fools will believe in the declarations of this govt to be serious in netting black wealth !

After all, it was Narendra Modi who spent a record Rs 12000 crores plus for campaigning in a single election (2014 LS election). This was more than the entire sum of money (exchange rate as well as PPP terms) spent by the worlds wealthiest country, the USA, for its 2016 Presidential election !

How can the BJP - that refuses to implement the recommendation of the Judicial committee (for investigation into big black money) to modify the P-note mode of foreign investment to prevent diversion of big tax revenue by corporates using this mode - be expected to be serious in putting a stop to big black money ?

Gautam Adani is known as the chief financier of the BJPs election campaigns. And he spirited away Rs 5468 crores from the taxes that ought to have been paid by him to the govt of India in a single P-note operation through the tax haven of Mauritius !

This is recorded in a police FIR as well as in a case filed along with incriminating evidences by 3 officers of the ED/DRI before the Justice M B Shah led committee on reforms to curb big black money.

How can Narendra Modi be expected to move against big black money when he runs the most expensive election campaigns in the world with it ??

The other half will run away !

As a matter of fact if a JPC like committee is formed, consisting of say the cunning and foxy finance wizards of the G-7, with the agenda of evaluating the demonet dame, and write a neutral thesis on the merits and demerits of demonet, any such further steps can be effectively sharpened.

The outsiders will have a better view.

Demonetization could have worked but Modi messed up.
by Rajesh Chheda on May 31, 2017 06:06 PM

Demonetization could have helped unearth black money only if implementation was well planned and well thought and kept public inconvenience to minimum.
Poor made huge money acting as mules. Thoughtless act of declaring that 2.5 lakhs deposit will not entail any inquiry and so on.......restricting cash withdrawals etc.....
Almost all of 15.44 lakh crores of currency already back in bank.....here govt messed up...then unleashing corrupt govt servants to catch corrupt....how is it possible for them to deliver? Can a man arrest himself for any crime? Demonetization helped in cleaning up books of both honest and corrupt. Clearly Modi wanted to win UP elections by projecting himself as a messiah of poor...today honeymoon in UP is over in less than 100 days with Yogi unable to stop miscreants.
