They selling substandard products also. They should be quality conscious. Some local/branded products are sold at a low price. and in some cases More than the MRP. I am a victim of one such deal. A product was sold more than the MRP. I raised a query but they did not care to reply. I planning to take them consumer court for this act of Amazon. They take things easy in India knowing how our judicial system works.
It's not easy for sellers on Amazon. The Indian version of Amazon is very Indianized in the fact that unless you bow deeply to your Account Managers, you won't get sales. Besides, the commission structure and hidden fees on Amazon never gives a clear picture to the Sellers who mostly sell at a loss and very low margins to gain sales. Indian Amazon is pitting sellers against sellers and killing these sellers with losses.

You are right in many ways. Commission and hidden fees are an issue if you opt for FBA. Logistics costs a bomb and if the margin is thin, it is difficult to survive, selling online. But I am happy overall with the counrywide reach. Always should sell specialised items with higher margin.
