Late Rajiv Gandhi said.
90% of our tax money is swindled or squandered or wasted.
If we stop that,India will progress.
We don't need an economic adviser for that?

INDIA's dishonest work for itself
by R ponnabalam on May 02, 2017 04:43 PM

After the forced eviction and murder of Public sector industries the man power recruitment was what contractor brings into the system;the well known brand names in manufacturing are hardly any. During the hey days of Market " New Public Issue"- a time when road side pan shop was also thinking of taking the route of Public issue-some old machinery import flourished, So WE WERE ACCEPTING THAT WE WERE READY TO ACCEPT POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS FROM POOR OR SECONDHAND MACHINES OR WE BELIEVED AND FOOLED OURSELEVES INTO THINKING THAT WE WOULD PRODUCE TOP CLASS QUALITY FROM THOSE MACHINES WHICH THE OWNERS COULD NOT PRODUCE THEMSELVES AND SO WERE SELLING.Then the contract culture ; core job syndrome.Maintenance on Contract. This did irreparable damage to the health of machines. The sub contract syndrome. If companies with good machines and skilled labour like Govt.of industries or big corporates do not take the pain to produce quality products will it come from vendors with poor machines , mostly less skilled labour and with practically poor investment in quality control tools. India did a dishonest work .IT IS NOT ACCEPTED YET,CORRECTION IS FAR AWAY R.PONNAMBALAM

Tall talks;Failure at management level
by R ponnabalam on May 02, 2017 02:20 PM

“forces -- world economy ( slowing global trade, protectionism, robots ) will limit India's manufacturing” Mr.Biju Patnaik silenced the labor unions in Durgapur steel plant telling -this is what we were told-when they wanted to discuss manning.” The company is running for 20yrs; you want to discuss running NOW.After 70 years of independence and a whole lot of pedigreed man at helms of things that matter , we discuss manufacturing Industry at the initiative of the home grown Modi the P.M. not the Harward, Colombia,Oxford stalwarts, It would take someone of the caliber of Mr.Biju Patnaik to tell the case and its facts bluntly. Where was the investment in manufacturing sector. In 1988 or so “The Machinist” of U.K. ran article that read”If U.S.A. can invest in fresh machine tools why can’t U.K.That applies to us too. When Russia ,CHINA, had become big manufacturing giants , -S.Korea and Japan are no less- why we allowed the Pvt. sector to use the public money of bank loans to be frittered away with no investment in machineries. See the quality of machines in shops in China. In mid 1980s HMT, Kirlosker,Praga were good Light machine Tool companies .,What steps were initiated to manufacture heavy duty machine Tools sand why praga or HMT are tottering today.True unions were militant ,But the management had to manage and the Govt. must facilitate it.A dialogue with a shop floor trade union leader.I said,”You fellows have spo

The 2 power companies he is talking about
by Yogesh Murgude on May 02, 2017 02:08 PM

increased the charges to the multiple times of the current rates. One is TAta Power and in Mumbai they suddenly increased the charges of different categories. My bill w.r.t. units consumed and actual bill is more than 5 times. i fail to understand why suddenly they are putting this pressure on the client. Sad thing is you cannot change the service provider. There is a saying in Marathi "Tond dabun mukkyacha maar", and same thing is happening.

Indian Economy
by Suram Verma on May 02, 2017 12:54 PM  | Hide replies

Is it Indian economy or world economy, these paper tigers or bookish economic gurus can only give material to read and discuss to so called intellectuals but most of the people in India and the world over do not read them and so do not believe in the economic doctrine proposed by these people. For majority of population world over economy neither has changed nor it will change and it is only a fight to get two times meal a day.

Fight to get two meals a day is only a struggle in India and will probably be in the future as well. Rest of the world has moved far ahead. East Asian economies, South American economies have progressed a lot and European, North American countries have become even more richer. Only South Asia and Africa continue to be poor.
