put thy noy faith on prices of market
by R ponnabalam on Apr 02, 2017 02:52 PM

Every man for himself. So every country for itself.. Right or wrong the steps in industrialization of Nehru's days are worthy good.Militant unionism caused it's trouble. Private sector utilized that, made this country a big country of importers. Not all in Pvt. sector with abundant money will forego enjoying life and concentrate on business. The govt. has to step in but this time strictly on business motive not like the charter in the olden days which said profit motivation is not the goal and we must be strict on discipline implementing No work No pay. It is for the govt. to find capable people and make things move."cost competitiveness that certain Indian exports offer are all good to hear". May be it was Mr.Irani the then Tata chairman said,"Make a quality product at affordable price ;it would find market"THAT TELLS THAT OUR MUCH VAUNTED PVT. SECTOR HAD NOT DONE AS THAT CHAIRMAN RIGHTLY SAID AND WE SUFFER. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.LET US DO IT AND THE GOVT. SHOULD TAKE LEAD."PUT THY NOT FAITH ON PRICES OF MARKET to modify the words from Hamlet. R.Ponnambalam

The internal strength i.e the foreign exchange we have helps in taking decision of giving opportunity to youth to start something on own by giving them training in school and colleges, the grants given by government play important role for the education institute and to students who need resources. The population in terms of consumables easily gets demand but not sure about capital goods i.e machinery which can be made in India or imported. The education level play important role to take guidance and take initiative.

Make in India
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Mar 30, 2017 04:34 PM

Make in India was in existence well before the NDA even had a sniff of power. After Independence, many global companies signed licensed manufacture agreements with PSUs and some private firms and large enterprises started to produce goods.Exports were not high, but local demand was met by these factories. Examples were aircraft, steam turbines and electric generators, fertilizers, rail locomotives, rail tracks, textiles, leather products, army / navy radar systems etc. The work went on quietly and without excessive sloganeering.
Nowadays NDA thinks Make in India should only be for export , which will be a blunder if they persist in such a policy. NDA should stop hyping that Make in India is one of their innovations.
