It is a dream of every citizen to live in his own house without the problems of rental owners' of houses. Let it be small or without super amenities it will be good for him. instead of paying rent he is paying EMI. This is a very good and biggest achievement if done properly through proper channel. There should be not be corruption in this saga. Modiji's dream is to build a nation of self sustainable and developed India through such basic infrastructure and social development. People will be happy to contribute in this endeavour. Also the Rent Act backed by Supreme Court should be implemented in every state without fail which will bring in justice to the hiked rents, petty quarrels related to rent house's damages, painting charges etc. and will reduce the burden on the tenants considerably. Thus it will bring amicable solutions to the long awaited problems and help in progress of the country.
People do not have a home of their own.. They are paying rent... Affordable home is to own a home at the cost of the rent... These people are not looking for appreciation, super amenities, etc...They are looking for ahouse of their own.... To that extent this scheme is excellent... You want to run down anything Modi does, then your writeup is ok...
Investing in affordable small budget homes should be made illegal only then Govt. will be able to provide budget homes to everybody. Else based on the development blueprint of the Govt. which builders and investors come to know first, the rates are hiked and land is taken by builders in the name of providing budget homes and then as per their whims and fancies create houses which are costly, thereby the end result being common and poor people are not able to buy and still forced to live in chawls or slums. These days to earn more profit even a person who is doing some job, invest in multiple homes by taking loans. And those who have money, obviously they keep buying homes and selling thereby unnecessary escalating the prices which is unworthy.

To that extent, if appreciation is not there, speculation wont be there. Then everyone can afford a house.. Affordable home is a genious idea.
We are to accept it is basically or those who cannot afford house, not for the people who has choices. This will serve the purpose in a big way provided transportation is ensured from the places where such houses are built.
