hasty decisions

Twisted logic by the BJP to try and close down mechanised abbatoirs. It is these modern mechanized ones that help India get its premier position in meat exports , currently higher than even Brazil. The BJP must think carefully about livelihoods of the poor and the effects on the economy before acting in haste.

Beexf in North India

stands for buffalo meat, not cow meat.

And the BJP / Sangh Parivar creates or engineers such a lot of unrest over it.

On the contrary, beexf in Kerala is often proper cow meat !

And the BJP / Sangh Parivar, which tries very hard to convince itself that it is somehow on the ascendant in Kerala these days (election statistics be damned), keeps a deafening silence about it !

Whenever journalists pose questions to them in Kerala about the inconsistency between the BJPs stand about cow slaughter and cow meat in the state and its stand on the same in North India, the partys spokesmen labour to try and argue that they will not go *against the will of the people* !

Apparently, the going dictum seems to be When in Rome, do as the Romans do !

Making leather goods by way of killing cows should be stopped. Yogiji should ban all such factories. Instead they may make leather goods from died animals. And their capital should be invested to other ways for developing of mankind's. Leather is not a mandatory part of civilisation.

Actually the abbatoirs are only killing buffaloes and bullocks , so they do not offend anyone. Most of the raw hide for the leather industry comes from these large abbatoirs. Could be we can do without leather in India, but what about catering to the export market and what about lakhs of livelihoods .

Better we should go for importing lether from other cow/buffalo eating countries and improve the economy. We have so many other ways for us. We are forward thinking and cow protecting first. Everything comes second to us and our government.

Killing cows or any young animal should not be permitted.we import rough diamonds and export processed diamonds in the workd , same can be done here. Only died animals leather should be used in the country. Regarding Livelihood nothing better than having miltch animals for livelihoods. Country is not getting milk, only adulterated milk, and hence milk prices going up every 3-6 month. Henec Govt must provide subsidy for milk buisness , dairy and for processed milk roducts for all such people.

Leather industry is very profitable.

The owners should invest in water treatment plants and treat the water before dumping in the Ganges. Otherwise it is better to close them down. These days alternative materials are available for shoes.
