The Australian government granted this contract knowing the ramifications very well. They took the contractual amount and allowed Adani to work. Now all this nonsense.
Australians should raise their objection before their government and not pressurize Adani to stop the mining.
"Cricket ties might get affected", so let it get affected. The only responsible entity for this stalemate is the government of Australia.
Adani, if pressurized, and forced to stop the project, should demand adequate compensation from the Australian government including the costs.

is the best description for the effort of these 90 Australians !

They have no idea that the big time thief they are addressing hails from a land where the great majority of commoners are so dumb that not even the harshest of effects of pollution caused to their land by such big time thieves as Adani (with the subtle connivance of the government) would drive the tiniest bit of sense into them !

And so, Gujarat state, that has been identified more than once by the CPCB as the most polluted in the country despite not being the most industrialized, where even the sea has become so turbid with untreated industrial effluents and where hundreds of kilometres of its sea coast has been rendered irrevocably polluted by Adanis Mundra port project, is hailed by such dumb middle class Indian commoners as the paragon of development !!

what nonsense is this?
by Srinivas R on Mar 16, 2017 03:22 PM

what is this nonsense that I am hearing??? what has business got to do with cricket playing?? are they trying to fool somebody or blackmail us on popular sport? if that were the case the british ruled India brutally and destroyed rich forest reserve for many projects and to serve interests. One example, is growing coffee and tea by destroying forests to meet their habitual drink needs. India should not play cricket at all.

Chappels on the wrong foot.
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Mar 16, 2017 01:36 PM

Completely mixed up message from the Chappells. When a project goes thru all due diligence and is in fact cleared by the environmental agencies of Australia and also has that Govt's backing, how can it then affect cricket ties ? This is no monkey gate.

The activists are entitled to their view but then they must fight it out with their own agencies and Courts. In India as an example, some coal mine projects have not been given the clearance . Chappell and Co must be able to convince their own countrymen instead of throwing out threats.
