Tax evaders

Employees especially Govt are the honest tax payers as tax is deducted by employer from salary and directly paid to Income tax dept.,whereas 90% of pvt doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants, real estate builders, businessmen pay only 50% or less income tax by concealing their real income.same way many LandOwners/industrialists show income from business& other sources as income from agriculture land( buying parch lands giving no income) and pay no tax.To prevent this misuse agricultural income only up to 3 to 5 lakhs( for small farmers only) should be made tax free

Who will collect tax from road side vendor
by yogesh shetty on Mar 08, 2017 07:17 PM  | Hide replies

Majority of the road side vadapav/panipuri/chaiwala's income is more than the middle class. But who will collect tax from them. They are the ones who are actually using more public space then me as an individual tax payer but no one will collect tax from them. They are the ones who dirty the public place then me but no one will question them.Their tax will be collected by the police as a hafta or a local goon will collect hafta from them.Is there a method to trace their income. Not against their work or their earning but make them pay tax and contribute to nation building. Also there is a fear that if we make them authorized tax payer they will treat their place of doing business as their own and do dadagiri.

Why only vadapav/panipuri/chaiwala's ?. Most of the doctors, lawyers and people who do business do not pay tax. If they start paying tax then the tax collection will increase by 5 times.

Tax

Why one should pay taxes, particularly Income Tax-where you are always insulted in case of scrutiny or inquiry. What for and for whom and why one should pay.
Lost confidence in govt. when 1.1 lac crore burden is taken by the present govt. just to implement pay/pension revision. Carry home of everyone has come down due to lower interest particularly of retired class, but pension is continuously increasing-biggest liability of govt. No correction.
Similarly why one should pay 30% on eatables, about 10% in registering the properly-all official loot again just to meet govt. expenditure on politicians and its servants.

Tax avoidance
by Seshadri Nagaraj on Mar 08, 2017 09:50 AM

With the present tax base itself revenue collected by the Union runs into lakhs of crores of rupees out of which 30% - 40% goes straight into the pockets of corrupt politicians and bureaucrats as margin money. Then what is need to widen tax base without addressing the leakages. First plug the leakages if you have the political will and the current tax base itself is sufficient to meet India's and your needs. No need to point fingers at citizens. Citizens are honest and not corrupt as is being made out.

off late thanks to PM modi and FM that if we buy cars we are branded as tax avoiders. the writer should checks the facts - how many car buyers actually pay cash and buy the car. most of the cars are purchased by availing loans.
90% or more buy the cars by taking loans.

what the govt which cheats the public in the name of various cesses. do the govt give any account for the cess collected and utilsed. amount in lakhs of crores are being looted from the public in the name of cess.

Do you mean to say people who take loan are taking loan just because they do not have cash ? Most of the business people take loan just to hide their income and avoid tax.

where do u find most cars in metros or outside metros.
before blaming the car owners the govt should make it clear how many cars are purchased using loans and how many cars are purchased on cash payment.
its is silly to say people are buying cars so they are tax avoiders.
stop giving cars loans and then u check the performance of automobile companies. they will have to shut down their business.
