circus

This govt is eager to show circus rather than govern . More than 100 people died during demonitisation and not a word from PM regarding it . A dictator mind and a stubborn attitude is slowly bringing indian economy to a halt .
This govt functions for the big businesses and thinks how to benefit them . Very sorry state for the poor and middle class .

This Taxation will annihilate.....

Cottage, tiny and rather small scale industries will cease to exist that provide around 80% employment, like banning of meat export culminated in pushing 1.5 lacs families on to roads in UP and elsewhere. It, indeed, appears, this Govt. target the Middle and Lower middle class, poor, very poor and farmers who grow food for the beaming billions to take the burden of the ones like Vijay Mallyas caused to the nation, whom different banks were said to have given loans against a "same set" of documents amounting to Rs.9000 crores, that remain unrecoverable. Demonetization played havoc in the lives of the small scale traders; farmers and common-men. GST will now bring massive unemployment. Is the Govt. taking some sort of vendetta against the mass whose votes have been snatched by hook or by crook to acquire power? People should take to roads now.

Once manufacturers/traders get accustomed to the new tax system they may come to know as to how the tax could be evaded. The govt with the intention of bringing more people under tax belt introduced GST - whether the govt is going to be successful or not will be known only after a period of 6 months and more. It depends on the implementation and monitoring authorities.

No it is not so and it is at 28% slab. In TN most films produced within Govt norms were fully exempted from Tax earlier and now those producers will suffer. This is/was official - HOWEVER in most theatres they charge abnormally - not selling the tickets as per the ticket cost specified therein. - normally collect at least 150% and for new films it is being sold 200%-500% - no strict actions seems to have been taken.

Let us see what the govt is going to do now after the introduction of GST.

Explain with examples.

It would have been better if illustrative examples were also given while explaining the terms.

may be the concept of GST is good. But people also need to under what slab the basic needs are coming .. drinking water, packed bag of rice , eggs biscuits, mushroom, fertilizers, generic medicines ... tax direct increased from 5% to 18% for some to 28%. what kind of gov. is this. it is like gov. is taking revenge on people who voted for them . literally person who are earning Rs 10000 are going to pay 2000 for taxes they are buying basic needs. i really hate this disorganized way of gov. now and even at the time of demonetization. this is like British raj leaching money from people. this is going to blow up small scale industries.

Good points made by Pooja. Somewhere the Govt has got the whole concept lopsided. In it's hurry to push GST it has ended up with a muddled legislation. GST was supposed to be a single tax but this is like multiple taxes with a cess to boot. And for the common man the compliance factor is like a kill joy. 37 forms in a year. Has the Govt lost it's moorings? This will turn out exactly like Demonitization a half baked exercise with chaos & insanity thrown in for good measure. This tax is from a lawyer's perspective & not an economist's view.

yes the rates are higher but the dealers stockists presently cannot claim benefit on the Excise duty charged by manufacturers and that is charged in turn to end consumer .However in GST what the manuafacturer going to pass as tax to dealer is going to available as credit & there should be a price drop.Anti profiteering clause is to prevent &check those holding back of such benefits by dealers .Initally we cannot see a great benefit over long run we can see prices drop
