Indians in the USA are not just simply serving the US of A by filling in with IT skills/services that are superior, cost-effective, time-bound, professional... Indians/Indian IT companies in the US of A are also contributing to the US economy via: Staying, spending, consuming and being a vital part of the local economy Being peace-loving...causing the least law & order problems Providing employment to US citizens - right from the Momma-Poppa joints to the top IT companies Consuming local produce, Paying taxes honestly Contributing to the tourism industry revenues
..I can go on..
It will be a while before you can effectively plug the gap if you wish to hire locally as opposed to employing outside talent from say, India. Yes, I agree, this will work if you talk manufacturing sector, service sector, government jobs etc. But will it work when you talk IT, Academics etc... Your guess is good as mine. The future holds the answer

If you mean to say US will collapse with restrictions on Indian IT specialist working there, then so be it. There is no such thing as Indian is an IT engineers Hub. One IT Engineer can train 100s to work on computer. I had no knowledge on computer. I was trained in office how to use computer and on ERP. I worked for 15 years successfully and retired recently. Indian IT companies in US are fooling the Americans and Trump realized it now.

Jobs for the 'sons of the soil' was the slogan of well known Indian Mr. Balasaheb Thackaray. Indians of other states were not given priority for jobs in an Indian State itself. Perhaps Mr. Trump must have known about it and now implementing this same Indian Slogan in USA. Mr. Balasaheb was right then so is Mr. Trump now. Jobs should be for the locals first.
