You are right. To Restore that Credibility the govt. should take full controll of RBI & bring cosmopolitan & efficient employees from PSU & pvt. banks. satish
Scape-goats are made out by politicians. When this demonitzation happened on 8th November 2016, The RBI did not announce it, It came from the PM. Was it with the concurrence of RBI? Yes, it was. If RBI differed, it should have challenged the PM. Otherwise, the entire staff of RBI should have come out with non-cooperation then itself. If it claims now that there was and is political interference, it makes no sense. If and when a policy is criticized, RBI staff should not make lame excuses of interference. Obviously, the staff is now playing politics. Even now, instead of caution it should have been non-cooperation. Does it happen? No. Hence it can be safely concluded that the staff is simply playing politics.

RBI Union is only raising an issue. Where is the question of non-cooperation? Why should it not cooperate with RBI management? The Union is only raising a fundamental issue with which even the Finance Ministry does not disagree viz. that RBI should be autonomous.

Why should it raise any issue at this stage? Fundamental issues are to be raised at the begining of the process. If raised after the process is over, it is called politics only to criticize.
It is unfair to criticize RBI or Govt in this manner. Demonetization was required and it being a massive task there had to be some course corrections. Govt and RBI was very alive, responsive and took remedial measures as the thing progressed. Benefits of demonetization shall certainly surpass economic slowdown etc, in due course of time.

Can you give me the list of RBI employees. Also RBI press at nasik & Mysore. Satish
The financial mess created by demonetisation and impact of the same on economy and sufferings of common man are only due to whims and fancies of one man whose personal ego is bigger than Mount Everest
This government has a tendency to put a finger in everything, be it RBI, in JNU, in FTII, in Judiciary, in IIT. It wants to control everything. I wonder if "minimum government, maximum governance" was just another jumla for the Bhartiya Jumla party.
