Manufacturing Jobs
by Vattem Krishnan on Jan 08, 2017 04:56 PM

In words possible but not in deeds.More so for Modi the Indian head.Needs of US and India are never comparable as they represent two differently enables economies of globe.Trump ha some thing to do non americans as they constitures larger percentage of population. For Indian PM,no such ordeals except that his insecurities lie in defending borders.Modi for India is a talker of changing politics.Trump for America is a surprise with no direction about future economy of the globe. No wonder if inflation troubles America in the next five years and American become poorer from the present level.India has no hopes for any thing as the educated youth have no jobs in their own country nor they fit into ethnic wars

It is a pity that you have to bring in Trump to pull Modi..
by MS Vasan on Jan 06, 2017 03:29 PM

After all the tricks in the books to pull down Modi, which all have not only failed but backfired and propelled Modi upwards, now your media is trying to tieup trump to Modi..
Good luck in propelling Modi further...

Make in India.
by Swaminath M on Jan 06, 2017 01:29 PM

We must encourage making in India program through innovation. Firstly meet domestic demand and later as export. Automobiles, computer hardwares and electronic goods are to be manufactured. Only public sectors will invest and not the private sectors. Skill devlopment is also a good initiative.

Quality is at a premium
by R ponnabalam on Jan 06, 2017 09:12 AM

We buy branded products or imported products for its quality, the ability to serve our needs. They come at a cost .We in India have not invested adequately in state of the art machinery and technological upgradation. To grow up in industry means upgrading existing skills and quickly learning new things and technology. We have no time for all these ;we have tome for excise evasion, siphoning of loans meant for machinery to real estate acquisition, creative accounting etc
If Industry small or big had invested to produce quality good they would sell anywhere. If we had not done it accept that and let us correct ourselves R.PONNAMBALAM

Practical has to be shown Practised not explained
by R ponnabalam on Jan 06, 2017 09:01 AM

The Practical limits have to be shown practised not explained by Economists .Please come forward and show it practised and teach others in practice. We have had a great amount of explanation all along on GDP growth, Market, it’s correction ,bubble, heating of labour situation, brokerage industry unrecovered loans of banks with no lonee names known etc but we have 4 in 10 children stunted as development as a newspaper article quotes on3rd Jan 2017. The complexities of wages and productivity, scientific inventions manufacturing dexterity are not beyond economics and Money Power and brokerage and accountants. A cursory scan can reveal 14 brands came from America but what is needed is to make at least one brand if not more to come from India .If Value addition, and therefore competitive advantage, lies in the ephemeral business of branding rather than in the tangible activity of manufacturing. let us continue to make bad (anyhow we are making)and still worse quality product and brand them we will have value addition as we have and then keep tell ing or lamenting and mourning somewhere that China had marched say 25years ahead of us by becoming the factory of the world ,investing in state of the art machinery and skill set development of it’s work force and Technical upgradation .The labour situation did damage to Industry because of militant unions and the political interference. That would need correction R.PONNAMBALAM

Nationalism
by on Jan 05, 2017 11:37 PM

The writing on the wall. Nationalism is on the rise. It is because of liberals around the world try to recreate a new mode of secularism where minority appeasement has became the order of the day. I will not be surprised in the coming General elections in Germany and France and at other European countries will also move in the same direction of Nationalism. It is interesting and challenging.
