non vegetarian food requires a higher level of the sense of hygiene than that for vegetarian food.
And most Indians, either by cultural upbringing or due to acute poverty or due to both, dont possess the level of cleanliness needed even for vegetarian food !

and that has made us immune to various infection..our bodies have adapted and changed..our waters are infested with ecoli but there is negligible outbreak but if a foreigner drink this water they fell ill..but all said and done we should adapt hygiene..
