Or maybe Rs.4 lakh for senior citizens who have no other source of income as no one will give them jobs leave alone there being no jobs for the lakhs of students passing out every year.

How True. He has very good ideas but lacks the implementation strategy as seen from the previous two years. For India's and our sake, hope he succeeds this time.

Sandeep, take only the recent case of demonetization. A very good idea but very shoddily implemented. So much so that nearly the whole of India except the ruling politicians and their acolytes became poor overnight. We were all running around like beggars even though we had money in our Accounts which we just could not touch. Worse still were the people who were getting married. Many of them got their hopes destroyed but not the ruling party politician as was seen from the wedding in Karnataka. And what has come of the inquiry. All hogwash.

What is the end result of demonetization ?. How many rich and defaulters have been caught ?. Why doesn't the list of those who have disproportionate assets get listed ?.

@Francis Given that govt. was targeting Stashed Cash, they had to keep everything secret. And given that the 80% employees are suffering from lethargy and corruption, no other govt. could have managed to pull the demonetization in a better way. Govt. has done an excellent job without any big riot or violence, adapting to situation everyday facing all the abuses. You don't undermine the scale of implementation. People were able to manage everything, no marriages were postponed or cancelled due to this. nothing is hogwash, after this exercise now Govt has first time all the data to about everyone. Millions of transactions need to be analysed and through data intelligence, it is not hard to nab the tax evaders. In coming years, you will see how it helped to track down the super rich tax thieves.

Ravish-
1) No official figure so far as to how much cash has come in. Now it is 33 days.
2) Demonetisation does not end or prevent corruption; you cannot deny it affected our lives terribly. You should not say people managed every thing 100%, that there were no disruptions or postponement.
3) Lack of supply of money lead to 120 plus deaths - so you cannot declare excellent job by Govt.
4) Assuming 13 Lakh crore is black money deposited Govt asks the BM holders to pay 49.90% i.e. it is ok to hold 6.5 lakh crore black money .
Bank will pay interest on that making them further rich.
5) We know the horrible track record of our Govt amd Judiciary in punishing the rich and the powerful...the case goes on for long year with the rich man perpetually out on bail( Eg Raju of Satyam Computers)
6) Banning 500 and 1000 notes and introducing Rs 2000 note defies logic . Govt surely does not understand or care how the ordinary man carries his day to day transaction.
7) You may deny but for millions like me this "Bahut Bure din " after all the trouble and trials.

1) Stutinting 18L cases in 33 day is not easy. A huge cash is submited but question is is that all white? and it take time
2) Demonetisation will not stop corruption, it cashless socity that will reduce corruption. DeNo can eliminate Black money generated till now, fake money etc.
3) Ur third point is politically motive, no data for that
4) $th point is ur misundertsnading, thing as per new socity chnage not as old govt. thinking
It "bhut bure din" for all corrupt an dblack mony holder but 85% comman man seem s as "AACHE DIN" and they with govts

DEmonetization of 85% of currency is not joke. Now within 2 month all is stable, no queue nothing. Lot of case register for balck mony and ppl caught with huge money. Why we ignoring all that? Opposition will always tried to nulifygood step of govt even they say no surgical strike, but we must use our mind rather than following them.

Sandeep, you have no knowledge of how Banks operate. Today with Computerization at the Day End the Bank can give you exactly how many Rs 500 & Rs1000 notes were deposited. So it should not take more than 1 day to get the no. of old notes that were deposited in the Banks. Today even after 33 days the FM does not give us the figures which only tells a sad story of what is happening at the helm of affairs.
Demonetization was good. In fact the PM took a bold move. But what followed was disgusting. BJP depositing Rs. 1 Crore in a Kolkatta Branch of Indian Bank on 8th Nov. & even the PM not taking any action. Rs.6 crore in the new Rs 2000/- notes, found in a Car of a BJP MP who is Chairman of a Co-op. Bank and he says it was meant for 2 of his Branches. Branches of nationalised banks in Mumbai were not getting more than Rs. 75 lakh per week from RBI. And each branch's transactions are equivalent to the transactions of all the branches of that co-op. bank. Till today no action has been taken and the matter is brushed under the carpet. I fully agree with you that Fake Money will be eliminated to a large extent and more people will come under the Tax Radar which is very good. But even you would agree with me that all men should be treated equally and only because he belongs to a particular party , he should go Scot free.It reminds me of George Orwells 'Animal Farm' wherein he says that 'All men are equal but some are more equal than others.'
