The Toyota guy is thinking very selfishly and perhaps he wants to continue to sell Toyota's old discontinued models in India beyond 1930. Toyota does not have a good range of electric vehicles at present and by his statement it seems they will continue to manufacture carbon fuel vehicles. They might go the Kodak way.

The problem is to have sufficient charging points. India has a demand and supply mismatch in any service you can think of.
