It's true that PM NaMo is not as academically brilliant economist as PM on rest M M Singh ji but can brilliantly envisage the need of the hours.Like EU and Scandinavian countries, "Swatch Bharat" drive physically and in practice to cleanse Indian economy corruption free not by tottering against all odds is praiseworthy. Economy must come back on rail and accelerate, let's wait please. Tapan

A war cannot be won by just shouting jargons of Jay Ho Jay Ho.
by chanakya maurya on Dec 11, 2017 10:57 PM

A war has to be fought on the battlefield with commendable strategies and their near perfect implementations.

The economists therefore find the situation devoid of these factors both on the domestic front as well as global export front.

Development is being felt at all levels.

However, it would appear the pandits are rather too uncharitable towards the saffron regime.

No mater what these so called economists of any varity say, truth is they are not capable of seeing and hence talking truth. The reality is BJP is no different from congress. No understanding of reality by these men because it is all discussed in the cosy confines of ac rooms with the warmth of choicest beverage. The truth is farmers, common man and people in the unorganised sector continue to suffer to make ends meet and nobody is bothered even to understand other than giving bombastic ,colorful terminologies indicating their non performance.

Agree fully. We will repay the favours in 2019 elections This was quite natural, when an illiterate chaiwallah becomes the P.M.

Structural transformation? My foot!
by Bharat Kumar on Dec 11, 2017 01:56 PM

I just heard from an architect that there is a buyer for my plot of land, if I agree to take 20% in white and the rest in cash !

Most traders offer the option of cash payment without GST vs payment by credit or debit cards with GST of nearly 20% on things which matter ! Resorts, furniture, etc.

Unless there is an incentive and an honest display of intent, people won't fall for these theories of structural transformation, etc. Worse, it can only mean people are learning more sophisticated and even more straightforward ways and means - jugaad and khullam khulla !

I personally wouldn't run down the PM's sartorial sense, but criticizing others of austerity wearing the most expensive silk-like and slick khaadis with an exclusive shawl draped around and rimless expensive glasses, openly patronizing the corrupt rich businessmen - looks and sounds very hypocritical.

There has been a structural transformation from a truly Gandhian and honest appearance, even if belligerent, to a Nehru-like sartorial statement and basic language. That looks like some things are indeed shining in India, but like the specks of water bodies one spots from a plane over India - lower the udaan, clearer the picture!

Recovery

Yes it will take 2-3 years time, but all failures in the past have been in executing the new changes, as govt. servants are interested to keep people harassed to extort money from common man, no political party bad been dare enough to bring reforms in their service conditions with hire and fire policy to deliver the desired results.
