Skill is a function of love
by auryas on Dec 02, 2017 05:31 PM

As our teachers taught us ( at least till some 20 years ago) that excellence ( also known as skill) can not be honed without love for what you do. Skill is excellence. It is not something one can achieve through training. What you learn in training is just a 'know how'. It is not SKILL.

Take for example Software. We boast to any one care to hear that we produce largest number of IT professionals in the world (Majority of who are pretty much JUNK in terms of fitness to be employed as software engineer). Not because of their fault but because of poor choices they make. Each year software ENgineers are produced in LACS , 90% of who are pretty much unemployable.

In the good old days some of us took up programming and computer science for the love of the subject.

Today, it is because of social status or pressure. People are ready to join any junk college devoid of rudimentary computational infrastructure and faculty just to get a B.Tech degree so that they can go to US and earn in Dollars.

Increase reservations based on each caste, sub caste etc( Social inclusiveness , Economic inclusiveness and other cr$p).

Decrease the cut off marks and like the anti NEET controversy in Tamil Nadu, make tests so easy that they should be crackable by even the dumbest of the lot.

its education system which is money centric
reservation on caste and not economy of person is main culprit
india everything is for money so engineering colleges demand 75k per year for both 95% and 59%

by V Nagarajan on Dec 01, 2017 09:53 AM

For us to making a living we need 3 things?
Knowledge, Skills and attitude.
Different professions need different amounts of these three.
What is knowledge? What we learn in class room and by reading.
What is skills? What e learn by doing is skills.
What is attitude? How we do things is attitude.
