Nice to read that an INDIAN has taken over as the MD of Hitachi INDIA. Hope, he brings in some quality in product and service. I bought Hitachi product. We Indians must be wary of Japanese business! On face, they seem very polite but they are one of the most hypocrite people for doing business. Look at Hero-Honda, Maruti-Suzuki, Toyota-Kirloskar etc. Their strategy is to tie-up with Indian companies, get a strong foothold in the market and then ditch their Indian partners. Once they get control of Indian company they also ditch all the Indian suppliers and replace them with Japanese suppliers.
Japanese giving responsible senior positions to Indians (or Asians, in general) is so rare that it becomes a news. Sometimes they just do this to show how broad minded they are!. Have they given him actual powers or is it just for optics. Do they give him the same salary that they would give to Japanese MD. Still 99% of Japanese companies in India are headed by Japanese.
