The writer mentions patented, proprietary technologies, terminator seeds, etc.. These problems exist and need to be separately addressed. If a farmer's field gets some seeds from a neighbouring field with a patented variety (maybe because of the wind, or birds or animals) the farmer is held responsible; it is considered like theft! And some criticism of GM is banned - someone should fill in the details on this point.
Let us congratulate Professor Pental and his team for the notable achievement.It is eaqually gratifying to note that he has trained many young researchers. Let us hope that they will contribute their expertise in developing more such products.
