Nobodys land
by guru on Sep 26, 2016 03:19 PM

Land should be considered as natural asset like crude, coal , minerals & only Govt should have right to decide what to do with that. Otherwise people who are other then farmers will not able to build factories , cities , housings , roads infrastructures which are vital for nations growth.
I personally believe , Govt should take over whole nations land allowing all present farmers to do farming but with the power to decide about the future plans of the land.

No crisis.
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Sep 26, 2016 11:15 AM

If the projected industries could not come up after even 5 years, I guess it's perfectly right to ask for the land back. It is different in Singur, because the SC says the acquisition was made in a wrong way. There are correct ways to acquire land banks in favour of the Govt and these must be followed. The SC has not created any crisis, it is the Govts who have to obey their own laws.

SC verdict on Singur
by RAKESH KHARE on Sep 26, 2016 11:02 AM

If the Company like Tata is faulty in land acquisition , I do\'nt think any acquisition in India is legitimate even Govt acquisitions, SC should verify all the acquisitions done in last 5 years only, all acquisitions will be cancelled.

SC verdict

I dont know why this SC's verdict is seen as a defeat to TTATAs... in fact it is the defeat of left government that gave TATAs the land.

Long live under developed Bengal... your talented people will come out of Bengal in search of a livelihood and will never return to Bengal.

What supreme court is doing when its writ does not run?
by R ponnabalam on Sep 24, 2016 02:16 PM  | Hide replies

The court verdict of Supreme Court can be flouted as we see in Karnataka and the right of an India to stay in any place in India is also not guaranteed as the Karnataka govt. organiszes Hooliganism against other language speaking people.Riparian laws are not to be respected in India.Political patronage gave Govt. of Industries to Bangalure beyond its human life supporting potential and denying it non Congress States. Now as a result Karnataka robs the riparian rights of down stream states without having planned for water sources but diverting Cauvery water.cauvery would have flown into Bangaloor in time immemorial if it is meant for bangaloor. What Supreme court is doing when its writ does not run R.PONNAMBALAM

Riparian laws do not mean reducing one area to drought like conditions without drinking water. Hardship is to be shared and adjustments made . Unfortunately the SC did not look at things in the light of vital needs of cities. Bengaluru had no large water sources nearby except Cauvery. Even Chennai had to get water from Telugu Ganga and from the Veeranam tank, far away. It is only when there is no other option, with backs to the wall, that one defies the SC . If things return to normal, there is no problem in reverting to the usual volumes of supply.

Bengal will always remain a agrarian state
by debapriya sarker on Sep 24, 2016 02:16 PM

Bengal will always remain a agrarian state, no big industry can be constructed there due to regressive politics, gunda culture and above all the work ethics and work culture prevalent in Bengal

Singoor & TATA NO NO
by Ashwin on Sep 22, 2016 12:06 PM

Does anyone know the plight of those who died on account of this Project Nano Blunder? Can any one give the total loss in 10 yrs, on account of this blunder? In terms of loss to Tata's, loss to farmers, money spent on Courts, running around leaving their bread earning jobs for the poor etc.? Above all, can anyone answer who & why they wanted only this place for the Project, ruining already scarce farm land? More often than not, such blunders cost India too much.
