Tata's Ouster Was Needed To Expose The Tata-Bubble !
by rishi on Oct 31, 2016 02:33 AM

.....Mistry, the scapegoat, will eventually emerge the winner...that's besides the point. Tata's will crumble soon....the writing is on the wall as Ratan Tata has proved his recent intolerance remark through his sown action against mistry....the remark he made at a school function, the rediff coverage for which is under "Intolerance a curse we are seeing of late: Ratan Tata" readers can google this out and will get to know what i am saying.....tata's compulsive anti-BJP and anti-Modi mentality in the face of competition as India heads towards becoming a major manufacturing hub. Corporate world shall go through a major transformation in India and gain investor-confidence multifold higher than the short-term downward ripple if any in the stock-markets....it would be through a host of other corporate entities tuning their strategies to not only fill up the space that is created by tata's ouster but also to legitimately cash on the Prime Minister's vision to make india a manufacturing hub which is possible only by making the Nation an investor-friendly destination and also allowing our other domestic industrial houses to go ahead with their mega plans in the sectors like transport, infrastructure and steel industries. Greater transparency will come up as the tata-congress nexus (which corrupted the bureaucracy and the political crooks of the colonial-proxy that congress was) gets fully exposed by Mistry. Modi's vision of INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION at high levels will pre

Tata to Mistry!
by Srinivas Konuri on Oct 26, 2016 10:00 PM  | Hide replies

After years of searching and deliberations, Mr. Cyrus Mistry was appointed chairman of Tata group but was fired over night after less than half-hour of deliberations by the board of Tata group. Cyrus Mistry's turn as Chairman is the shortest in the history of Tata Group. Probably the search committe spent as much time searching as Cyrus Mistry had as chairman. All this is IRONIC!

Whatever Cyrus Mistry did as chairman he surely will be remembered for his grand entry and unceremonious exit. For the Tata group itself, this is a dark episode.

The reasons for the exit are given as Cyrus not consulting with Tata trusts committee on major decisions the latest of which is Tata Power's acquisition of Welspun Renewable's solar and power assets, messy exit of NTT Docomo from their cellular services joint venture, closing of group's steel business in UK and most importantly lack of vision.

The way the exit came about is as big as the exit itself. No one in the world save for the doers of the deed had any inkling. No mention or hint on online news, blogging, micro-blogging, social networking sites. No leaks, despite so many channels of communication. The ever alert and vast media enterprise could not sniff this news byte out.

There could be a few reasons as to why of how this happenned:

-This is the only way Cyrus Mistry could have been fired. Negotiating a mutually agreeable exit was not feasible and would make things messy with moves and counter-moves of rival parties.

-This is the way Tata trusts wanted to fire Cyrus Mistry. Tata trusts feel slighted as were not accorded the respect due to them as founders and majority owners. They wanted to give a befitting reply and in the process put Mistrys in place and show who the boss is.

I think it is a combination of the above with the second being the dominant factor. Wherever and whenever a person is treated this way, strong personal reasons and bruised egos have to be at play.

This whole thing seems to have been planned as meticulously as it was executed swiftly. A battery of lawyers were consulted, PMO was kept in the loop, the full board was convened to vote with only two members abstaining and caveats filed in various courts.

Or there could be an unknown reason X which may or may not become known and forever be surmised. Whatever the reason there could be any number of ramifications:

-Who would be the new chairman? Will Ratan Tata return for a second innings? Till the new chairman is appointed, these questions will gnaw at the Tata group.

The firing of Cyrus Mistry seems to have been planned over time and therefore it is possible Tata group has also pretty much picked the new chairman and only need to go through the formal motions. They anticipate legal action by Cyrus Mistry, therefore waiting for the legal situation to become clear and do not want to introduce the new chairman into a messy and uncertain situation.

-Dismissal of Cyrus Mistry and the manner of dismissal violates his employment agreement. Of course the two parties will differ on this and there would be long drawn out legal battles in courts. Regardless of the final outsomes of these legal battles, by their very existence will cast a looming shadow over the Tata group.

The worst case scenario as far as Tata trusts committe are concerned is if courts stay dismissal of Cyrus Mistry and is re-instated as chairman of Tata group.

-18% factor: This is the stock Mistrys own in the Tata group. While it is David to Tata trusts Goliath share of 67% they could leverage it in their favour and at the least create hurdles in the smooth functioning of the Tata group.

Even if in practical terms Mistrys cannot do much the very fact that there is an aggrieved entity holding 18% stock will be a negative in the eyes of the world.

-All the above factors will surely have an impact on the employees of the Tata group.

-Share values of Tata group companies will take a beating. Even if a company posts good earnings the share value might not rise as much and if a company posts bad numbers its shares will plummet disproportionately.

Surely Mistrys will not go gentle into the night without a fight even as it were against the might of Tatas. They will fight in the board rooms, court rooms and the drawing rooms.

This whole episode could just be a storm in a tea cup or a real storm. Whatever it is Tatas surely think they have the wherewithal to weather and withstand. Time will tell if they are right or will live to regret.

TATA, Birla among others are virtual dinosaurs and would not have survived in any other country but India thanks to its traditions, corruption and bureaucracy the companies are proliferating.

There has been no industrial development in India. These handful of useless inefficient behemoths are still surviving since the past 70 years. Only Reliance could be considered as something of world standards but even they are ethically and morally crooks.

The age difference between Ratan and Mistry has to be like a Guru and Sishya but not in any other way..Can not be colleagues . Mistry being young must have taken decisions without taking their egos into consideration..He should have stepped down gracefully. Now it will become impossible for him to operate as a Director even .Generation gap

IT IS UNTIMELY AND BAD DECISION. EVERY JOB NEEDS ATTENTION, DEDICATION AND I HAVE BEEN WATCHING MR MISTRY MINUTELY AND FROM HIS FACE IT APPEARED HE WOULD SET TATA'S IN HIGHEST ESTEEM HOWEVER THE THREAD HAS BEEN CUT HASTILY WHICH WOULD NOT BE BENEFICIAL TO TATA'S. RECONSIDER THE SITUATION AND SAVE IT FROM DETERIORATION. WITHOUT PREJUDICE. WITH REGARDS.

It is known fact that SPCL is a company with low moral values and is head by the a group of people. Initially i thought that TATA with lot of moral in business had chosen surprised me for many days and month and ultimately ( at least now) TATA 's opened their eyes to know that this group will be sold out to Mistry with next 10 years and TATA name will disappear in the market .
JRDT name will be vanished in market awake TATA team while selecting a chairman.
He should me HONEST
HE OR HIS FAMILY SHOULD NOT OWN ANOTHER OTHER COMPANY. basic intelligent is missing with TATA group. BEST OF LUCK

Forward movement and vision are ever missing in India
by R ponnabalam on Oct 25, 2016 03:32 PM  | Hide replies

In India the vision has been missing ever in almost all sectors;but nobody would dare tell it.We were hunting out Cococola :China was opening up it’s market and we see ourself today still in infancy of industrialization mourning our inability to have a good manufacturing sector.Articles had appeared saying the world over development was on manufacturing ;but we remained closing our eyes in fooling vision to the growth of NPA in our banks with the tacit approval of one and all. With our Oxford Harward qualifieds gone it was taken upon by the present P.M. to talk about manufacturing. That it has not taken wings may be due to the NPA in banks. The world moved towards computarised numerical control in machines to cater to export market through consistency in quality;we remain chocked in what we boast as jugad culture... We are ever ready to close Govt. of India undertakings but want to infuse Capital in the biggest non performing Assets-the banks.Engineering and Design>;they are taken as not within the purview of"Management"
What a surprise to read “The vision was missing,” “there was hardly any forward movement’ WHILE THESE ARE SO PREVALENT EVERYWHERE
