I would request Modiji to look into this very seriously...We cannot let the Chinese walk away with this project.

China will squeeze all juice of Pakistan.
by Karwa on Oct 22, 2016 08:45 PM

CPEC is China's master stroke. China is closing all it's coal based power plants by 2020 due to environment issues (Paris agreement). They are shifting all their old power plants to Pakistan, will charge 17.2% ROI (Return on investment) and interest @8.5% and also asked Pakistan to invest 20% on these projects. These plants will run on imported coal. So China is said to be investing 80% on paper but actually not investing anything actually. On the other hand Pakistan will be polluted, pay ROI and interest on investment to china buy imported coal. Pakistan have no option cause China is their only 'friend' on this planet who wants to invest in Pakistan. The 80% China is said to be investing will go to Chinese companies who are supplying Power Plants and Pakistan will not get a single penny from them.

Chabahr, India, China
by R Chakravarti on Oct 13, 2016 12:43 PM

Readers are more concerned with protecting Modi than about the prospect of India being thrown out of Chabahar!

I am not bothered about apportioning blame. I simply don't want India to lose this project to China.

Rediff and the author seem to be on the payroll of foreign/antinational elements, as time and again we see articles like these on this site which try to show the present government in bad light.

The Modi government’s appalling inefficiency and lack of purpose stand exposed - What nonsense. If Modi is falling back then it is also because his initiatives are bold and ambitious. This project is not like building a memorial or an embassy.

And even though it was initiated 13 years ago he never found such appalling inefficiency with UPA.
Now that MODI said he will do it, he wants it done in one year !

Misinformation
by Raj Gopal on Oct 10, 2016 03:27 PM  | Hide replies

This article is giving half-information. Gawadar Port is also incomplete and still under construction although a portion is operational according to news report.
Setting up Chabahar Port was held up due to sanctions on Iran and Problem in Afghanistan. What do u expect India to do by constructing a port when there is no seaport activity business from the area. Its long term plan and such ventures are subject to political ups and down. Modi government has revived the project but its too soon to decide his success and failure.
