No one is interested to control unwanted population, none of the govt. servant is interested to keep Delhi and its around clean, dirt free. Burning is the only solution left. One can heap of dirt, garbage, malba and other unwanted encroachment of dirt all along the road side in NCR. Till the Thana Incharge is not made accountable for all such issues-nothing will come out. Govt. will only be giving figures of pollution but no solution.
The issue is very serious. Something has to be done about it. It appears we have scant regards for the recommended limits set by world bodies like WHO. We did something like permitting only part of the vehicles to ply on certain days etc. But such minimal interventions didn't appear to make much impact. We need to approach the issue in a more systematic and scientific way. We need to identify the highest polluting industries and human activities in large urban conglomerates like the national capital. With better technology and some incentives we need to improve the pollution level in a systematic way. If necessary we may even need to resettle some of the people or industries. But we also need to see the subsistence economic activities etc are not suffered or proper incentives and compensations provided. Whatever investment we make in this line will be worth by way of health and productivity. But the local govts may not be adequately equipped by way of necessary finance, technology and mobilizing power. So such critical issues to be addressed at the national level! Also we need to admit that with poor awareness etc the task is obviously of huge proportion.
