Delhi does not represent the national mood.
Hence, this article should be discounted to that extent.

correct, I have drawn money from different ATM of Bangalore from past few days in just 10 mins. In karnataka queue is thin, only in Delhi where common people are made to stand in queue to deposit not their money but somebody else's money, cannot understand why jan dhan account debit card cannot be used, why was cash kept at home and not deposited in bank, this is fundamental question to be asked to all those standing for cash exchange

Poor and lower middle class in hazardous situation
by Samir Kamal on Nov 22, 2016 05:33 PM

In long term, I don't see any benefit of discontinuing old notes and subsequently releasing new notes with same denomination.

The only solution to curb this mess (black money and corruption) is to completely stop higher denomination and release maximum of Rs 200 (two hundred) denomination AND then effort should be to made to achieve cashless economy. If people can use mobile then why can't they use card and card swapping machines.

In US maximum currency is $100. In UK, though 50/100 pond notes are in circulation but you will hardly (rarely) see them. I was there in UK for 1 year but not seen above 20 pond denomination even single time. I had given special written request to bank to arrange the higher denomination for me as I was suppose to carry India.

WAITING

Since 8.11 nothing happened good. Now poor people are suffering in Banks,ATM, market etc. Mazdoors, farmers are suffering. Patients and their families are suffering. Not a single politician suffering. Not a higher class suffering. I am waiting for Achhe din. If it will come I will say demonetisation was a good step. But what is the definition of Achhe din? Will it bring down price of everything? Will it increase salary of poor? Will farmers be helped? Will petrol/diesel price be lowered? Will corrupt politicians and Industrialists will be arrested? If by this demonetisation black marketeer are suffering that is not helping poor people now. Someone's loss is not other's profit. So, I am waiting. If all the above will really happen I will say Modi is great. BUT NOT BEFORE THAT. No politician are there for poor people. Indian History.

Banks and money
by hayavadana rao on Nov 22, 2016 02:59 PM  | Hide replies

Banks find it difficult to pay even Rs.4000.00.Instead only Rs.2000.00 is being given. No arrangement from the RBI to pay small denomination of Rs.100 and Rs.50. Even to deposit the amount in the banks, long queues are there. One has to stand in the line for two hours to deposit old notes. Before the people start negative thinking of the Government, the Govt. should act.

Wish you understood the plight of farmers, construction workers, day to day wage earners and pensioners who now have to invest 7-10K to buy a Smartphone, should now learn what Internet is and learn to use paytm because that is the favorite toy of the PM....They get paid on a day to day basis on Cash...Does this Chaiwala understand ?

Hello Miteshji- People who ruled our country for 60 years didn't do a step to curb the black money. If there is a change which impacts everyone, we need to adjust and live for sometime (for 50 days) as said by PM. think about there is a war (or) natural calamity due to which the entire country is facing a problem.. How do we prepare ourselves???
