No clarity in TATA
by KARAN on Nov 13, 2016 10:15 AM

While there is no clarity on what is going on in TATA,one thing is clear, from the dirty linen being washed in public is both are wrong on ne count or other. Now with Ratan showing off more, which appears to be more of EGO,it is time that effoets must on to see Cyrus efforts to shut off or restructure all the loss making units of TATA like NANO,TATA power etc.If Cyrus was right about these erinially loss making ventures, then RAtan must see the reality and accept Cyrus recendation for the sake of share holders. With millions of real public money the top managent,if they are honest must ,act every second to safegaurd the share holders interest

Professionalism is okay.

But the owner is always right.

The sense of possession is very strong at the top.

My company.

I nursed it.

I know what is the best for tata companies.

I know what is the best for L & T group.

In fact they are stunting the growth by unduly intervening.

Yes.

If they smell a coup of a take over like Narayan smelt a rat at Infy it is okay for the big boss to jump in.

But here it is nothing but the intoxication of power.

corporate Goverance is theory, summary removal is necessity
by R ponnabalam on Nov 03, 2016 07:31 PM

Without being specific to this Misty-Tata-Mystery affair every one wants to be a leader not a follower
and wants to be in your seat to give commands and to be heard“to recollect what my class teacher told in Class Eight while discussing “Shivaji wanted to be a leader not a follower”.But here the question is being the authority to show the other man his place .Corporate Governance, duty to share holders, duty to stake holders etc are good English phrases. Industry runs on “the owner is the boss”mind set.A owner would ask a professional”Are you teaching me theory”? One can say ,”NO”,beyond that cannot say,”I don’t tell or teach theory as I don’t expect you to understand it.”
May be it was one who is involved in this who had said long long back ”Professionals come and go or something like that”.Nobody raised his voice at that as at that time as he was as good as HE.It is only that is unfolding now, only thing is this time the professional is high state share holder also

It is very sad to note the present goings in Tata group. This is sad commentery on continuation of Tata legacy and policies. Both Mistry and Tatas should sit together and try to solve the muddle at the earliest.

Difficult to pronounce judgements from the gallery
by Palan Mayurkumar Bharatkumar on Nov 03, 2016 04:27 PM

The unceremonious ouster did put Indian business in bad light. But, opinions of Mr. Pai and many others from the ringside are also playing havoc in theri own sense.

The manner in which the event unfolded was definitely vry bad. That does not make one side less or more guilty of what actually transpired and led to the decision.

It would be wise, not to jump to conclusions. Mr. Ratan Tata is also not a kid, he may have reasons, but, the route of reaction stumped the corporate world, certainly true.

Crux OF The Issue Lies Outside The Boardroom...INTOLERANCE !
by rishi on Nov 03, 2016 11:28 AM  | Hide replies

.....check out for the political-connection that Ratan Tata himself got into the picture 5days before sacking Cyrus Mistry....tata group has to face the music now as it can no longer consider the nation as his sole industrial empire.....a monopolistic trend the tatas had gotten used to for far too long with patronisation from congress regimes in the corrupt corporate-politician nexus of yore they themselves perpetrated when an entire bureaucracy was made impotent with bribes and commissions ! With competition getting stiff as the corporate world expands liberally, there is also a greater transparency at the Board level decisions which inspires investor confidence instead of taking it away like it happened here with the Tata's kneejerk reaction.
