they are easily paying 5000 crore less due to unjustified tax rebates on their refinery bizness alone.
But this penalty is most ridiculous penalty and most overseas investors will think twice before investing. Just bcoz ONGC slept over its assets and RIL dug up and extracted gas from its field and some of the gas from neigbouring field flowed in ....how can that be fault of RIL ?
I once met a senior officer of Reliance Group in a Party. He boasted that Reliance did in 25 years what TATA GROUP could do in 75 years. Someone in the party told him on his face that even after another 75 years Reliance will not be able to earn the good name and image TATA has in the market today.

From 2013 Congress was sleeping on this due to miscellaneous reasons.. Hope NDA also does not sleep on it for miscellaneous(?) reasons..Govt must take action to stop this stealing of public property by private mega corporations..
