Raghuram Rajan the present RBI governor has accredited himself quitev well in the present Indian econo0mic scenario. He should be given extension for another term to put the economy on firm footings. The letter of S Swamy shows his jaundiced mind. He is used to make allegations without any documented evidence as it has been proved recently that he has none.

Raghuram Rajan has done a good job with the monetary policy. There is no reason to not give him another term.

If BJP decides not to renew his term it would be purely for parochial political reasons rather than on merit. Of course, as a party full of narrow minded people i won't be surprised if BJP takes the decision to put "their" man who will do their biding.

Ever since Mr.Rughuram Rajan has been appointed as Governor of RBI there is lot of PR which focuses on RBI and its Governor.

He is always in the news unlike his predecessors.

To reappoint him or not is government's decision and I doubt these news are also part of PR to give him another term. There are many other equally or better qualified professionals / bureaucrats who can do a better job.

There will always be alternatives for any job...
But someone who has already doing a better job is preferred over someone who can do a better job...
Who in good sense will replace someone doing a good job without an ulterior agenda??

Any position needs change and RBI Governor's term has ended. Now if the Government thinks he is suitable to their Agenda and is in sync with their policies then they will re-appoint him and if not then someone equally or more capable will be appointed (i hope).

This is perhaps the first time that RBI governor's appointment is be debated in Media.

Pros and Cons of Dr. Subba Rao and Dr. Reddy's appointments were never discussed so animatedly in media.

Rajan as RBI Governor
by K Bhaskaran on May 24, 2016 09:51 AM

The Government intends to take a decision on Swamy's direction to Modi to remove Rajan as per newspaper reports. Why BJP wants to make it a political issue. This means all appointments to Public Institutions require Swamy's nod. Save India from the evils' clutches.
