Anti-national basis of VOTE BANK creation
by on Mar 26, 2016 06:47 AM

Congress had ruled India on the basis of vote bank creation and taking bribes in defence deals. WHY NCC WAS STOPPED in schools and colleges because they teach a bit of discipline. No BUSINESS person / POLITCIANS wanted thier childern should become a disciplined citizen and CONGRESS wanted all PSU / GOVT DEPTT & OTHER SHOULD absorb / employee their YES MEN . This is how interest in national affiars had gone to the level of VOTE BANK . THERE IS NO INTEREST IN IAF / ARMY / NAVY and others. Indians who are qualified in AIRCRAFT industeries and they have desire to serve nation BUT IN INDIA A SMALL AIRCRAFT (TEJAS) is taking years to become operational. SHAME to BRIBE TAKERS LIKE CONGRESS etc GO FOR MAKE / MADE in INDIA and bring all experts working abroad to India. BJP should focus on revival of ailing industeries in place of closing them. WAKE UP BJP not by talks but by action.

I endorse views expressed in this article . However to implement on ground initiative is required by industry, DGR and Govt by ensuring some reservation for xsm in all types of Govt industries at all levels and benefits to Pvt. industrial units for such a move. DGRs must train each xsm for his new role through reputed institutes in last two years of service or post retirement on no cost basis.
Lateral induction in GP A and B services / PSUs should be permitted with small reservation to all technically qualified officers at all ranks . It will also increase better avenues for the officers outside the defence forces and industries selecting will also be equally benefitted by their disciplined and great work potential.

I fully agree with his views. DRDO would have completed many long pending defence projects if premature retiree technical officers and ORs had been absorbed laterally. They have been making labels and sticking on to the systems supplied to Armed Forces which is forced to accept in the guise of encouragement to indigenous products. I have many personal experience on their systems in case someone wants to contest my views.

With the continued slow down in industrial sector for the last several years. Success of "Make in India" depends upon encouragement to Indian Industrial organisations, with all such facilities offered to foreign investors. It is also essential that Govt should not have industries which are continuously under red in govt management.

At the outset, give reservation in jobs to X-Servicemen irrespective of age (upto 60) and then your SC/ ST/BC/OBC etc. Most of the Govt. jobs are on quid-pro-quo basis, except mercifully x-servicemen.

Retire all govt. servants on army pattern where a jawan retires at 49 and Lt. Col. at 50-retirement does not mean - jobless, they also work later on. Similarly in order to get maximum youths and young technology and blood-all common govt. servants must be retired early.

I have found a peculiar bias against ESM. After doing 34 yrs in Corps of Engrs, I joined academics in UPTU (now AKTU) institution. I tried to get my industrial (Army) experience including day to day innovations in equipment and processes (Construction drills) which bettered utilisation of imported bridging and mine fields, to be acknowledged equivalent to PhD. It was recommended by a panel comprising of a "to be VC' of the same university. However this was not accepted by another committee at university level. On the other hand, many people (not all) working on obscure and irrelevant issues were easily granted benefits and appointments where PhD or industrial experience which can be considered equivalent to research were required. There definitely was a bias against ESM.

Airforce Technicians.

The first defaulter in not recognising its own product is the Indian Air Force itself. The cream of youth who passed out of their matriculation examination were selected after an exhaustive psycho-technical tests on an all india basis between the year 1949 and 1962 and were trained by Air Services Training Limited (Hamble) at Air Force Technical College, Bangalore in all the core branches of Aeronautical Engineering for a period of 4 years as per international standards and were inducted in to service. They were to form the edifice on which a modern Air Force was to be built in independent India. Most of them later underwent training in U.K.,USA,Germany France and Russia on many advanced fighters, bombers and transport aircraft and distinguished themselves while the Ministry of Defence slept comfortably failing to recognise their superb contribution to the cause of national defence. In fact they were the back-bone of the IAF in the field of maintenance and over-haul of military aircraft and sophisticated systems till the 1980s. Frustrated at the conditions of service and treatment meted out, most of them on completion of initial engagement (15 years) retired pre-maturely and opted for employment in civilian establishments in India and overseas. One could find them being gainfully employed in Boeing at Los Angeles or at NASA in Houston. Many occupied very senior position in Indian and foreign airlines while a few, opted to become lawyers, technocrats and Managers in civil.

Indian Air Force

After a very long time a retired Air Force Officer has written an article worth reading. What he has highlighted is true and interesting. However I request him to throw some light on leadership quality when not in uniform. Airmen fail miserably there and that is why are not picked in civil areas. He can be a dictator when in the forces but one has to learn to be democratic moment he sheds his uniform. Venkatesh Iyer
