It is good to progress, but doing nothing but politics everywhere is bad. Importing trains will improve our rail journeys. But what about exporting lazy and unwanted politicians in the country.

U r wrong, this first installment has brought from Spain, subsequently it will be manufactured in Amritsher.. Not in Spain
We are celebrating the speed of 180 kms/hr achieved by "Tiago" trains manufactured in Spain,as if it is an achievement of "Made in India". Unfortunately the entire bunch of the current leaders are prone to boasting & hyping every issue.

The earlier regimes(from 1981 onwards) slowed down the non elitist super fast trains in the past.Reason: tracks not good for even 120 kph. None of the past regimes made any attempt to correct this situation. No point criticising imports from Spain. In fact, this technology can help speed up trains without improving the tracks

Actually Bullet Trains are very expessive and need special tracks 10 times costlier and also carriages with special wheel sets. But this Talgo coaches is the way to go. They can run on present tracks, Spain is ready for full technology transfer and thus help travelers reach their destinations saving 30-40% of present travel time.

Mumbai Local train will improve when Bihar & UP states are improved. There is no time to Our Railway Minister to improve Mumbai Local trains.
As usual, the new fastest train has been introduced on Mumbai -Delhi corridor. The Indian Railways should look beyond thias corridor, which has got lot of good trains. Whereas, Mumbai - Chennai corridor connecting two metros have only one train each of a mail, express and a super fast. This route is yet to see trains such as Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Garibh Rath, etc. Please do not dump old rickety and failed trains on other routes here. This corridor needs some good trains urgently. Can we expect some positive soon?
Re: Fast trains
by Ramesh Koushik on Jul 20, 2016 10:47 AM
Lack of genuine super fast trains from Chennai to Mimbai is indeed very bad. The fault is: this route is yet to be fully double tracked. The blame should go to CR and SCR which did not bother to double this route all this while. Hopefully this will be set right in the next 3 years after which we may see much better trains in this route
Now we have classes within trains i.e., poor man's class ( II class ), middle class ( Sleeper Class ) and rich class ( A/C ) within a single train.
Times have changed and we started having rich class trains i.e., Rajdhani and Shatabdi. This reflected the affordability of Indians. Obviously we will be having more of these and less of the traditional trains. I remember there were no new trains in last two years.
