Friction with telcos fuels Prasad's exit
by susarla suryaprakasam on Jul 09, 2016 06:08 PM

If performance or proximity is the criteria, FM also would need shifting, with all credible international institutions questioning GDP growth percentage, even home-grown doubted it, and it became a joke.

Despite all talks on call drop, the same exists with all tele companies. All your warnings with telecos are found to be eye wash. Better be honest in accepting failures.

Call connectivity and Tower Wavelength
by on Jul 08, 2016 07:20 PM

As the Court has given its direction on call drops, will the Govt. Allow them to increase the Wavelength of the Towers which was reduced by the previous Govt.on certain views that it causes Cancer which is still not proved by the studies conducted. On another angle Birds are not seen and flown away from Cities, which is not true because we find that Trees are chopped to help Real estates to grow which made their Nests to build in an area where Trees are available. So it is better to increase the Wavelength of Towers to give a better connectivity and without call drops.
Furtherore than Five years back the cool news came that the TRAI has ordered thevTelecoms to reduce the Call Rates by 10 PS for Local calls and 30 PS for STD calls and make One India Calls with Telecoms across the country, but what happens is some Companies are charging 40 PS per Local Call after getting a Bonus Voucher for this "lesser" rate and normal basic tariff rate is more than 120 PS while the call connectivity rate is far down below even after adding Admin cost etc.
Will there be any solace for the Common man?

Ravi Shankar Prasad is alleged to have been demanding/accepting bribe money. Only time will say if it is true. It is possible the PM also came to know about it. Even I was shocked when I heard about it. But then it came from a very reliable source.
