Making an issue out of nothing!!!
by Anil Goel on Jan 28, 2016 03:51 PM

This gold and money has been given by the devotees to the temple, to be used by them in whatever manner they like. Why the heck Rediff is creating an issue out of nothing? This is not 'PUBLIC MONEY'. This is people's money. And there is a difference between the two. But whatever is against Hinduism, Rediff team will lap up. Have you bothered to take account of the money and lands owned by the mosques and the churches ever? Just see how much vast lands are being held by them...just see how much properties are being misused by the waqfs all over India. But you will not speak about them, for the reasons we all know...

Gold with Temples
by venkatachalam v on Jan 27, 2016 01:40 PM

Why should Temples deposit gold with Banks. Banks are having high NPAs. The gold from the temples should not be used for funding NPAs. Moreover, temples are getting better returns (in the form of Goodwill) which is of a higher value compared to interest rates offered by Banks.

Trust should approach Banker's
by Share Ideas on Jan 27, 2016 01:19 PM

There are 2 problems :
1. Most of the gold are in form of jewelry. Gold monetisation scheme will melt the gold, which temples having apprehension.
2. Most the temples are run by private trust. They have some private interest and don't want to reveal how much gold they have.

Bankers have said that temples are not coming forward, while Trust says Banker's should approach them.

I don't know why Trust don't want to contribute to Indian economy

Precious metal is precious for everyone i.e. Gold
by D.K.MURTHY on Jan 27, 2016 01:14 PM

In the interest of the Country our present Government have announced few of the present Gold Schemes to either deposit gold with banks and/or go for gold bonds and RBI are also clarifying things in favour of our country's requirements to boost business to improve our
economy aiming prosperity. But this Gold is emotionally engraved in every heart for possession and for security reasons. Initially, Government announced the success of crediting the LPG gas subsidy directly to individual's bank account and everybody welcomed. then there was Prime Ministers request to effluent people to voluntarily forego their subsidy in favour of marginalized poor. This was also welcomed. Then came a compulsion that if the household income per year is more than Rs.10 lacs, LPG subsidy will not be given. Such uncertain moves by the Government is one of the cause for not picking up of the Gold Schemes, for no one knows of the restrictions that can come from the Government if the Gold stacked (as people say) are deposited on the Gold Schemes announced.
