MANY TABLETS, OTHER MEDICINES ARE MADE IN INDIA AS MAKE IN INDIA AND THESE ARE CONTROLLED BY PLANNED MANUVRES, EVEN IN MANY PARTS OF ADVANCED STATES AND CITIES AND REMOTE VILLAGES. IT IS A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY.HOW CAN WE ASK US TO DELIVER THE BEST GOODS IF WE HAVE COMPETENT COMPANIES AND DOCTORS. THE LATTER SHOULD SUGGEST THE3 BEST BRANDS.POOR PEOPLE[innocent ad fooled]
Indian Medicine Companies are making fool to the Public and playing with human lives. All medicines should be imported from USA since they are well tested and are made as per specifications.
The biggest reason apeears to be that manufacturers are no too much quality conscious..they know regulatory system can be manipulted...traders .are not concerned at all..they just want hefty margins..So despite huge profitability the MENACE continues...KNOW even their are buyers of EXPIRED medicines.. SHOCKED???
spurious and substandard medicines arise due to multitude of factors.. 1) poor regulation of drug quality 2) harsh price control structures, usually biased towards MNC, more often pushing manufacturers to lower their manufacturing standards or altogether stop the production itself. 3)allowing generics to sustain in the market , makes spurious drugs' manufacturing details virtually untraceable. we must understand that the indian drug manufacturers the the cheapest in terms of their pricing of drugs and government must understand that they are one of the prowessess of india (something like IT). pushing them too hard to favour multinationals may be the the current trend "unpatriotic". 4)govt. must criminalise gifts and incentives for doctors. this will level the playing ground for all players. mostly small pharma companies push the bar with incentives and big cmpanies with R&D with newer molecules. i am a doctor myself and i feel a large proportion of doctors use medicines on patients which they would themselves use if they were to suffer from a similar ailment. ofcourse there are some rouge elements who have anything but money in mind but you can trust that most doctors are aware of the performance of medicine and nobody would risk damaging their name for some useless petty gifts.

These are valid points . But mostly Indian companies were violating ethical marketing practices rather than multinationals, conducting cruise with family in the name of meeting , sponsoring foreign trips with sight seeing for doctor's and family etc. The other point is government institutions wants to cut down on cost and allow L1 tendering to get through , ignoring opinion of specialists and going by the recommendation of finance. Auditors hound doctors who recommend a particular brand for quality, initiating investigation even after retirement. Please check medicines at Military hospitals you will never see those brands in the medical shops, which was not the case 6 years earlier when good brands were dispensed and I have seen this in my father-in law's case(retd airforce).Spurious anti-biotics worsened his diabetic foot and had to be amputed and he eventually passed away. Medicine quality cannot be compromised and the manufacturers, insurance, distributors and govt, should formulate a policy which ensures patients have access to the best of drugs.
WHO IS BOTHERED ABOUT THESE VERY IMPORTANT THINGS ??? LIFE IS IN DANGER IN INDIA !!!THIS IS A COUNTRY WHERE ANGIOPLASTY IS NOT PROPERLY IDENTIFIED ,MARKED BY EVEN JUDICIARY .INSTEAD OF LEFT EYE OPERATION SOMETIMES RIGHT IS OPERATED. THAT MUCH CARE IS GIVEN TO THIS LIFE SAVING FIELD.
Today medical care is vote business. controlled by the powerful lobby of corporates. who cares for those who live on borrowed money. As corporates we are kind enough to share the spoils for a few more penneys
at the cost of social medicine humans are being exploited. there is no panel to check the authenticity of drugs. we Indians are just living like experimental animals. we don't value ourselves nor others. Any charity is gobbled and any medicine is popped. all alcohol and bars are all open
This is what happens when you force drug manufacturers to sell drugs at a govt fixed price which is lower than their actual market price. Let the manufactures sell the drugs are market price and this problem will disappear.

Kindly note that after the Govt. fixes its price the manufacturer is still making a profit or else he just would just stop manufacturing the product. Manufacturing a sub standard medicine is a criminal offence and such manufacturers should be brought to justice as the health & lives of so many patients are at stake.
