Hoping for better infrastructure
by BS on Feb 15, 2016 04:49 PM

Hope the new trains have a better Toilet facility after spending Rs 3.5 crores per coach.

Also the in 3 tier coaches, a more humane way to get to the top and middle birth should be provided in the newer designs

Swanky coaches

The initiative is very good. But the throughput of 20 coaches in a year is too small a number considering the number of coaches needed for the entire railway in the country.

have you improved? first correct yourself. Don't be negative always. what should PM do then? shouldn't he start anything just in assumption that nothing will improve? don't you study just in assumption that you would fail? don't you do you work just in assumption that you will not get payment? common correct your self first.

Have you ever gone to Gangtok...if not just visit once and you will know what can happen if people and government thinks of the SWACH BHARAT..
The Whole Gangtok is simply clean and clear. if you dare to through to waste on the road the small children will teach you to put the waste in the proper dustbin. Even you crossed any village a dustbin with "USE ME" symbol is present.
Just we need to change ourself and our attitude and if Gangtok can be clean why not your city.

People in India should change their mentality, They just don't care for Govt Properties bcz they knoe they are not owned by them and even if they dirty it or break it no body will ask them. Its our responsibility to keep things clean and Neat.

The key to the whole operations is maintenance...today all premium trains launched is so pathetically maintained that one wonder, why should we pay so much. Not even the Shatabdi are spared :(

by clive dmello on Feb 09, 2016 06:55 PM  | Hide replies

gov may introduce a world class train ,but the value will be zero if the people dont treat it like their own, wake up people this is for us and we have to take care of it.. look at the pic itself the child is sitting with the legs on the seat, look at the bottle scattered. why is spitting action not dealt with strictly . the gov should ban tobacco and pan masala items being sold on shops. shame on indians. please improve.

We did have such 1st class coaches earlier on Trains like Indrayani Express, Deccan Queen Express since 1980s. Route Pune To Mumbai. If people in travelling in First class has manners and etiquette to make use of such coaches...I believe it is difficult but not impossible for people across to keep them in good condition.

I agree...I travelled recently on Shatabdi and was upset seeing people litter. This is in spite of the fact that attendants came thrice to collect waste

THE ONLY SOLUTION IS THROW ALL GARBAGE INA RESERVED COMPARTMENT ON RESERVED SEATS OF PASSENGERS -- Don't provide water in toilets . SO THE PASSENGER WILL BE FORCED TO CLEAN HIMSELF -- CARRY HIS OWN WATER - ONE SHOULD SPIT ON PASSENGER SEATS so that when one comes -- he is forced to clean it of he wants a seat or a bogie .all garbage from the city to be littered in trains which are already reserved and u will see swatch bharat abhiyan starts automatically .HA HA

sorry. please check your words.
provide the best facilities and fine people littering - either on spot or using the video recordings of the cameras installed - everything will fall in place.
