The cost of demonetisation
by Mr Ekbote on Jan 08, 2017 10:58 AM

Well said, good coverage of impact on small scale sector.he should give possible macro solutions instead of brooding over problems. Lets see for solutions:1. All association members should help the families of workers open bank accounts.2.educate them in using mobile phones or debit cards for withdrawals and payments.3 work out weekly or monthly requirement of cash and discuss a way out to give cash with the bank managers 4 push bankers to give priority in releasing more money to their employees.5. Educate them in training people, neighbours in using cards.if you look for solutions, problems will vanish. No need for series of articles on problems, better it be on solutions.

Demonetization drive should be given an award.
by BInu Joseph on Jan 07, 2017 11:45 PM

Truly it should be given the most blunderous deed award in the world. Such a blunder without proper planning might not have been executed anywhere in the world so far. So I am not in a state to find out the outcome. Does it mean that now there is no black money existing in India and India is totally free from corruption????

Many fake journalists work for money so they write when they
get crisp notes in their pocket,
shame on them and public know them and their intentions.

Journalism is best and respected profession and still
many work and write for truth,
for public wellness.

After shocks of Demonetization and Burden of disease on Nation
by sathyam guda on Dec 29, 2016 08:22 PM

We are country of 125Crore.60 crore are illiterate, semi literate&less than 8th class studied. In terms of digital literacy, digital financial literacy&use of apps like paytm, SBI Buddy, online banking, other kind of digital banking&financial transactions 70 crore would be fully unqualified&disabled. Then requirements of KYC. There are several mistakes in aadhar cards which include simple spelling mistakes in the name, address etc. details. Corrections2them are herculean task though Govt says it is simple. Keeping all these&many such other practical concerns Income Tax compliance including simple filing of Income Tax returns becomes pretty difficult task & night mare for these 70crore atleast. There are other category of people like single old women, people above 65 years of age, Divyang people, so on and so forth. Thus Income Tax compliance particularly for those individuals who are in several crores in numbers might result in panic and crisis. There shall be altogether new & simple way of IT return filing & IT payment which will happen in the bank itself like indirect taxes that we pay and no paper work or going to TRP or IT offices is required. Most importantly IT shall not become policing department&force one 2 voluntarily forfeit fundamental right of freely using his/her hard earned monies. May be this will cause several millions acquire new disease called bank&income tax phobia&put nation to untold&huge burden of disease.I

Demonetisation
by Jaideep Mathur on Dec 27, 2016 08:06 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone from the poorest upwards want to be modern; everyone wants to be progressive; everyone wants systems like Singapore and USA but no one wants old retrograde systems to go.... Everyone takes pride in saying I have so-and-so much cash.... Its a sad situation that we as a society are corrupt and morally bereft and don't want to change.

Why kachaa bill, why not generate a pucca receipt for each transaction, why not pay each employee wages online into the account.... We are corrupt actually..... and we Indians should be ashamed of ourselves.

Lets be practical shall we and stop talking like Modi through the top of the various hats he wears.
How many of your "each employee" know how to operate an online account/paytm/or sign a cheque/or deposit it in an account.
Its very easy to talk bombastic language which sounds nice to Modi bhakts but at the ground level things are different (atleast in a largely uneducated India).
The demonetization was a thoughtless act with big ramifications which Modi did not factor in.

Be a Modi bhakt or not, anyone who thinks futuristic will surely sound like Modi/Jatley/Nitish. When we claim to see what's happening on the ground & try to bank on Uneducated India, why do we forget that this Uneducated India has done all sorts of other transactions & actions i.e. bank loans, transfer of property, various enrollments in govt. schemes, setting up business, legal fight for ancestral property, using internet for porns etc. Then why in the world it is so difficult to use online platforms for money transactions!!!!
