We copied British. Now we are trying to copy the US. Why copy, copy, copy. Why not FY from Diwali to Diwali ? This will synchronize with Gujarat, at the least.

Financial year
by arungopal agarwal on Dec 22, 2016 10:20 AM

Instead of copying the world, we should have it as per climatic condition of our country, better to keep it from July to June every year, as this is rainy season in India, movement of people in their fields, factories or other places is restricted, as such this time can very well be utilised for such paper calculations and allied work.

Shifting the financial year
by Ramesh Koushik on Dec 22, 2016 09:06 AM

There may be one benefit of shifting the financial year to January. Since rains begin in June/July, many road repair works, new road laying, construction of sewerage etc can be started well before the rains start. If the budget begins in April, by the time funds get allocated for the Departments, rains begin-this way you can gain 3 months to start such works

Arun Jaitley all set to present the Budget for 2017-18.
by chanakya maurya on Dec 22, 2016 06:50 AM

Hey ! not for 2017-18.

Reset to calendar 2017 would me much more pragmatic.

As things stand Bharatvarsh is lagging much behind and the march has to become much quicker.

GST going at a a snail's pace.

Its time Bharatvarsh defreezes the time.
