GST, according to Niti Ayog, Chief Economic Advisor and Finance Minister, is revenue neutral. So there will not be any impact on the Central Budget for next year. However, States may face revenue disturbance.
Why is the Modi govt following in the steps of the Congress in implementing GST which is a headache as all states especially those hostile to BJP have to be taken on board. Akranti the NGO who suggested demonitisation, have also suggested that Banking Transaction Tax(BTT) should be implemented which will fetch much more revenue and do away with Babudom and corruption .BTT can also be implemented immediately.
