warning repeatedly that we will be overwhelmed by our failings soon.

India has been well and truly overwhelmed for long by its mammoth failings; and coming out of the hole it allowed itself into is just a mirage !

Politically biased!!
by kapil jain on Aug 27, 2016 05:41 PM

Very valid points.. but the moment the narrative gets a political colour the message gets lost.. no reason in blaming Gujrat model for our woes and praising AAP model as our answer..we have suffered for last so many years for numerous reasons..answer lies in each of us..till we put country first and religion/caste/culture behind we as a country will never succeed.

Misplaced logic!
by sripad mehandale on Aug 26, 2016 10:19 PM  | Hide replies

Population growth is the main culprit. How much ever jobs are created or skilled man power is generated, basic requirements to sustain life, like food, shelter, safe water and other amenities cannot be increased with resources limited by nature! Of-course targeting particular philosophy is the ultimate aim of these writings, hence nothing better can be expected!

Like animal culls it is time that human beings start getting culled. Selection of persons has to be through a pragmatic and ethical process. At present there is not even a scientific protocol to allow humane culling of say approximately 6 billion out of the 6.5 billion or so extra humans on this planet.

If we do not cull then neither the environment will be saved nor the average condition of humans will become civilized.

It sounds horrible and immoral, but is purely a question of truth and falsehood. Nice falsehoods are not a substitute for bitter truths.

Old Data
by Logan D on Aug 26, 2016 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

As usual, the article contains data of 2013 and earlier i.e., 3 million jobs are created every year. In the last two years, about 1.7 million jobs were created per year. This includes replacement of jobs lost due to retirement, VRS, death, disability etc.

If the situation continues, the country may be inviting an uprising

With Modi as PM, it is catastrophe
by Rajesh Chheda on Aug 26, 2016 05:45 PM

See around yourself, how many new businesses coming up, how many old ones closing down, see beyond govt figures, no jobs, no entrepreneurs wanting to risk expansion, no money flow in market.
Restless youth being put to mental agony....thanks to Indian social system that family members support otherwise we would be in a civil war.
