Stringent provisions required

The advertisement agencies and also the celebrities should be held accountable for misleading advertisements. These people use their goodwill derived from other professions like sports, cinema, etc and then use this goodwill to induce the public to buy products which they have never used or the benefits of which they cannot guarantee hence they try to induce and fool the public which is an offence.

This is THE REQUIREMENT

For all those who think that celebrities are NOT responsible for production problems, then please answer the following question:
These celebrities are "BRAND AMBASSADORS", which means they are a part of the entire company(team), that includes the production department also.
Hence if there is a problem, then the entire team has to be penalized, including the celebrity. The extent of the penalty should be dependent, on the amount of income that member is taking from company/product. If celebrities are earning to the maximum, then the penalty should be maximum. If there is a problem, the sales gets affected, the increments and salaries of the entire team are affected, so why shouldn't the celebrity be a part of this penalty?

at some extend its good. but first responsibility goes to the govt. department who meant for checking the quality and percentage of mixer used in consuming product. Actually govt Babus should punished severally so that they could not take bribe and allow to run duplicate product in the market.

She is equally responsible.
She IS a brand ambassador.
She IS A part of that team which does NOT care about the customers.

She is selling and convincing, people, that the product is GOOD, where as IT IS NOT !!!
She is (and all the celebrities are) telling lies.

Telling lies is a punishable offense.

Dear friend,

How does Madhuri know that the product is not good ? Yes, one way is to use the product. Second way is to rely on the FSSAI or relevant certificate. The company has been producing the certificate all along. Do celebrities need to maintain their own laboratories ? Some government labs gave clean chit to certain companies. So who do we believe ? Who do celebrities believe ?

In case of Maggi, we all were using the product for years together, we never realized there is something wrong. So how can Madhuri realize there is something wrong ?

Is government going to set-up a special certification organization ? I am a celebrity, I got a request to endorse X product. Do I send a letter to this government organization -> Sir can you give me an endorsement approval certificate for X product ?

Also, the company makes 1 million batches of product. 1 batch is found faulty. Whenever something is found, media / people always remember the 1 faulty batch (not the 999,999 regular batches). How can celebrity recognize that 1 batch is faulty ? Will company send me the certificate for each batch, I validate it, then I appear in the ad: "I only approve Batch number 1 to 10".

Speaking at a philosophical / abstract level:

All this regulation points to what I call 'Speed-breaker' culture / or 'Child-protection' culture / or 'Ban' culture. When something is going well, we want all to be treated as Adult (I make my own choice, Govt. should leave me alone). When something goes wrong, we want to be treated like Children (Government should protect me, Government should frame strict laws, Government should ban this, ban that)
- Why don't we all believe in ourselves, and behave like adults ?

- In the specific case of celebrity endorsement: Don't we know that the celebrities are not doing it for free, they are getting paid ? They don't have MY interest in mind, they only have their interest in mind ?
- If I behave like an adult, keep the above point in mind, should I not do my own research before buying a product ? Should I not read all the information printed on the label before making a choice ?

Other instances:
- We (Adults) know that there is a legal speed limit. If you go faster, you'll die & you'll cause others to die. Why do we need speed-breakers then? For catching 10% of law-breakers, every day 90% of people obeying the law suffer.
- We all are Adults who can vote. Why do we need to ban "Sensitive"/"Hurts my religious sentiments" movies ? Don't we have the belief in our judgement to watch a film and decide for yourself ? When a movie is given A certificate, why do we need to "Cut" portions ? Why should adults be

A not so wise precedence to actors who feature in product ads as characters. Harsh for endorsements too and if the govt. wants to punish them, then they should take action against all those characters sitting in govt. offices FSSAI, Drug Licences, etc., should be a part of the penalising process as they precede the endorser in paving way for the product to hit the market in the first place.
