Please think a while why world countries are spending billions of dollars to study about planets, to find traces of life or water ....although all outcome so far has given only some information/knowledge only without any significant financial benefit...should they stop studying or stop sending people to outer sky?

Building bullet trains with borrowed money
by mohit on Apr 18, 2016 05:35 PM

is there any country in the world who has built bullet trains by borrowing money from other countries.

Our first priority must be electrification of main lines and doubling of tracks on main lines. and ofcourse improvement of tracks, trains and stations.

BULLET TRAIN-VIABILITY
by satya acharya on Apr 18, 2016 05:20 PM

Will those many passengers board the train with that tariff will be the question to be addressed, before calculating the trips. It should attract the middle class also.So why not run at lower rates for first 2/3 years to assess and attract?

Short distance 50-100 trips perday may not be feasible
by rajesh venkatraman on Apr 18, 2016 05:18 PM

It may not be useful for short distance cities but for long distance where you can expect the more number of passengers to travel as time would be short to different cities in between.
If the cost is more you will not find passengers of that high level. The tracks should be dedicated to bullet trains only or for fast trains or the trains timings and trips need to be regulated to help people going to different cities

Selling a dream
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Apr 18, 2016 05:08 PM

This is exactly like the idea of doubling farmers' income in 5 years. Selling a dream and later some one who succeeds you pays the price. No need to do detailed financial feasibility.

Benefits of Bullet Trains

The report also says "it is a good idea to begin and learn. Due to technology percolation to other domains, Economic development, Game changing sense of connectivity, National pride due to cutting edge technology etc etc...

The report itself says to go ahead...you have to sacrifice something to get something gigantic...no gain will come from no pain....

Pain is more than the gain . when there are so much other things to do,to spend so much amt is worthless. On the other hand this amt can be utilised for other useful purposes.
